That's because they got the test protocol and said "This is not how Porsche owners drive! We will test it properly!"

Agreed- as they say different strokes for different folks.

At the end of the day the Plaid is a one trick pony, at least they upgraded the brakes on these as before they couldn’t stop properly. Its just incomplete package as a “performance” car and definitely not at M5 level dynamically especially driver involvement.

Its not just a one trick pony, it has incredible acceleration, an EV cool factor, great technology, incredible driving aids, great looks...

I'll have to disagree. It's a supercar killer that instantly turns into a comfortable family/daily commuter. On top of that it's highly efficient and needs minimal maintenance, no ice vehicle at it's price point or higher can make that claim. If I were spending $100k plus on a car, this would be it.

But yes, I agree, different strokes for different folks

Onto the i7 review (I'll add my .02 about plaid vs. "proper sports" car (lol) argument later (someone doesn't know I had a x3m and m340i before).

This dealer let me drive the i7 how I wanted but my salesman was playing with all 10,000 options in the car distracting me (ever get a seat massage while trying to floor it?)...lol

TL;DR : more luxury then sport but unequivocally teutonic opuloence on wheels!

Good : wow, that interior and the zillion options/features and details that abound everywhere! Quiet as a vault, and great road handling manners. U want to be cheuffered around on it!

Bad : power is a bit lacking as it runs out of steam fast up top. Can still feel the heft when pushed. Idrive 8 embedded menus are a pita to navigate around. Gets $$$ optioned out (5k theatre screen, etc). 1 year wait!

Weird: it has a great Rolls Royce / Bentley stance butta that front snout is a big 🙈

@bitkahuna didn't have time to go by MB....may go tomorrow to check out the eqs....though driving the i7, I feel really old vs my plaid before. I reckon I will have the same feeling on a Benz....lol

Ps - I forgot to mention. The brakes (Regen) on the taycan sucks bad....i7 stopped great though.

Pss - that Hans Zimmer "soundtrack" on the i7 is cheesy as hell lol.....

Whereabouts are you again? I'm in the heart of Silicon Valley so almost all EVs are on allocation.

Btw - imho, this i7 definitely suits you more than any Tesla, given your past with the LS460. Pure opulence on wheels!

Plaid is faster than many cars but that doesn’t translate to better or more fun.
Curious....do you track your car? Do you push it to its limits at 140+ mph?

I do track, and dragstrip, as well as the occasion canyon carving.

Have u ever driven a plaid?

It ran of steam quickly around 80 I'd say. Even on the model x LR I drove it easily got up to 90. I recollect car and driver noted the same thing as well. And it doesn't have the instantaneous torque feeling like most Tesla's / EVs....very freight train like.

I'm in the Metro DC area, thats likely the difference.

Oh without a doubt, if I could only get past the looks...the range is also a little less than I would prefer
