I didn't really want those items since it really limits what you can pack on trips and I would never really use it anyway, instead I opted for a floor footrest, seatback tray table, and 2 of only 6 in the entire continent exclusive headrest pillows. I have some other stuff coming as well to finish up my options list but I never intended this car to have the full on rear seat.
Even for me that many miles is scary. I would go into it assuming I'm replacing by default every single control arm, brakes, some air suspension stuff (maybe) and all the service. Having just done that on mine parts alone are $4700 plus 10 hours so yeah......they would have to come WAY WAY WAY down for me to consider it.
It would also replace the LS460 and I really don't want to lose the reliability that car has, I simply do not trust anything with air to be on my list of "reliable" cars.
For me it’s not the comfort, it’s the feeling of driving something that is not so big everyday where it makes it feel laborious which is what large SUVs feel like to me. I like something smaller to hop around in for short trips to run errands and such. They are easier to navigate through parking lots and to park as well as taking sharp turns. I also like that when I’m driving faster they handle way better and you feel way more confident at those speeds.
On a trip when you have people and stuff and dogs, sure the SUV is much better. If during your trip you need to drive offroad or camp or handle questionable terrain like I do when I go to WV, SUV is great....but for a highway trip when its just me, if I had that X5 m50i and my S560 in my garage and chose which one to drive, I would choose the S560 every time. If a big BOF SUV was the other option it would be an even easier choice.
Some flagship sedans are starting to raise themselves for entry and exit lol
wow, beautiful in and out. still old though, lol.
how is that different from the one you already have? and you're really thinking of getting another one?
i agree. i guess it's a question of whether one does more long trips or short trips. i've realized i really don't like driving large vehicles, especially in parking lots! the room is nice though, if you need it.
my santa fe is a great size. it definitely has more utility than the grand cherokee i had for example and way better 2nd row seating room (and cargo room). the genesis g90 i had had acres of rear seat room lol but was obviously a big long car. i actually didn't mind driving it though... i guess the steering, suspension etc was so good it didn't feel huge. but from a utility standpoint, there's only so much you can fit in a trunk, so an suv works better for me for work. a friend got a ford expedition for the year end tax write off (over 6000lbs) and it's nice, but enormous. no thanks, lol. i have to buy out or replace the santa fe later this year or early next year, and not sure what i'm going to do yet. a tesla model y would probably work well, but there's just too many negatives for me. kia/hyundai have an onslaught of ev's coming too, so there will be loads of options if i go ev. but i still may just buy out the santa fe. it's been great.

That car is a D2, mine is a D4 and they are vastly different in feel, smell, sound, and layout and are very much nothing alike. I also want to own one of each gen with the W12 engines, all in silver over brown/cognac with the sport suspensions.
For the D3 I want a 4 seater loaded to the max and the D2 I want SWB and no options other than the high end audio and monoblock wheels. The D5 I'll have to "DIY" via buying a normal D5 in the spec I like and placing a Bentley TTW12 into it since they hate us and never exported any D5 W12s here.
End goal of my garage is every A8 W12, a D4 S8, a 2009 LS600h ultra, 2015 R8 V10 6 speed, 2015 Q7 TDI, 2019 Flying Spur Speed, 2020 Mulsanne EWB, G-wagon diesel from around 2010 or so, and eventually a TT Gen 5 viper and LFA. Every single one in silver with some variation on interior colors, I want blood red in the S8, R8, and Flying Spur and cognac in everything else.
Wife wants a DBS, Bentayga, V12 G-wagon, a manual Focus RS, Audi TT, and a TRX. She is still picking what she likes though/getting into cars
No mine is a 5 seater so while I still have the memory/heat/cool/massage I don't have that full length center, fridge, or the powered footrest. Saves about 200lb as well, with the control console down there isn't much difference really...

This is how I feel too. Like the other day when I drove that X7 M50i, its a super nice vehicle, and when driving it in a straight line it feels very much like a flagship sedan with good effortless power, but any bump or turn and you feel the height and the weight transfer and the mass of the body moving around, and when I got back into the sedan all of that was gone and it was just really, really apparent to me that the sedan is just a much better vehicle to drive. There is just no escaping the difference in height, mass, higher center of gravity, etc.

i work for myself at my own pace which pretty much means I'm a workaholic and busy around the clock 24/7 always busy with my job and side research and taking time to sleep and I can't imagine the extra load of having a bunch of cars too.
I'd need to be wealthy and have a butler like Batman. Haha
At my age I have to keep it more simple.
My X7 has the dynamic handling package with four wheel steering and I still feel like it’s a pain driving it daily through parking lots etc. It is what it is given the size of the truck and relatively speaking, it’s not big compared to other large SUVs. It we didn’t need the space and third row I would get a X5 sized vehicle without question.
I really would like to pick up a sedan too for justs trips to the store and back which is most of my driving these days.
Maintaining and looking after more than one or two cars is too much work for me.

Funny to hear people say this as the current X3 is slightly bigger than the first-gen X5. I get it though.
It looked so much smaller than the new ones and that's what surprised me.
Could be an opticsl illusion I don't know but it looked tiny.
