yes, like 99% of suv owners, i will only go 'off road' onto the shoulder of a highway or some field that's being used for parking at an event.

End goal of my garage is every A8 W12, a D4 S8, a 2009 LS600h ultra, 2015 R8 V10 6 speed, 2015 Q7 TDI, 2019 Flying Spur Speed, 2020 Mulsanne EWB, G-wagon diesel from around 2010 or so, and eventually a TT Gen 5 viper and LFA. Every single one in silver with some variation on interior colors, I want blood red in the S8, R8, and Flying Spur and cognac in everything else.
Wife wants a DBS, Bentayga, V12 G-wagon, a manual Focus RS, Audi TT, and a TRX. She is still picking what she likes though/getting into cars
only a couple million in cars. you go you.

why a 2009 year ls600h?

I can remember, when the A8 was first introduced several decades ago, Audi didn't even bring it to the D.C. Auto Show. I asked the Audi representatives (a couple of ladies in classy/sharp-custom suits, as is typical of Audi reps at the shows)...."Where's the new A8? ...that's what most of us came to see." They just gave me a funny look, not looking me in the eye, then glanced down at the floor, and kind of mumbled..."No, we didn't bring it". Not a word or reason why; not a word of apology, not a word of when it would be on display. They acted more like the stuffy and aloof BMW reps of the era than from Audi.

The X7 is abnormally soft for a BMW, something reviews have picked up on as well. I was shocked by that when I was in my sibling's vehicle. The Alpina XB7 tightens that right up though.

I didn't love the way the V8 drove either. My uncle always buys A8s ever since the FWD 3.7 V6 model he bought brand new in 1999. That car was an absolute lemon as was his 2003 but he just keeps buying them.

I really would like to pick up a sedan too for justs trips to the store and back which is most of my driving these days.

To be exact, current gen X5's first row leg room is 0.5 inch less than X3's while its second row is 1 inch more. In any case, X5 is ridiculously tight inside, just big outside due to its long hood. If one wants space in this group, GLE is the one to go.

Maybe the reps at the show just didn't know why the A8 wasn't at the show. More likely maybe Audi didn't want to share a reason with the show going public. Who knows.

Yeah the GLE's rear seat is dramatically more roomy than the X5. Doesn't seem to matter to most people though.

My most recent car rental. I'll do a write-up about my experience in having one of these on vacation and post it in the EV Chat forum.

Well, no. Don't be so literal lol. Like I said I love sedans too and have always wanted a convertible. And we'll be buying another convertible in a couple of years. We want the LC500 for the NA V8 engine first and looks and style second.

I just reallllly love big powerful BOF SUVs. I can't describe how awesome an LX is for a road trip. It's a friggin' tank. Weighs 200lbs more than the Denali which makes the LX look like a CRV size wise lol.

only a couple million in cars. you go you.

why a 2009 year ls600h?

your sig says best car you've owned. how long did you have it, and why did you sell it? i've been curious about those.
I only had it for a few years and loved everything about that car at the time of my life when I had it. My kids were in car seats at the time and the LWB was just awesome for that and the motorized rear screen. At the time it had a lot of features that many cars didn't have at the time but are commonplace now like radar cruise control, LED headlights (first ones to have them), etc and to me it had presence. I even liked the factory 19" wheels. At the time it had a great hybrid powertrain that was smooth with a lot of torque and was fast for that size car. My inlaws lived a few hours away and it was just so great to drive on road trips but the trunk was freakishly small.

I know you weren't asking me about the model year 2009 but for me, the LS styling I liked the most on the 600 was the 2008 and 2009 and I also feel that way about the LX too.

As far as selling it, I got rid of it when my kids only needed booster seats so I thought I could daily drive a GTR since it had back seats but once I bought it, I realized it was too raw to drive everyday so I leased a small scion to drive everyday until I figured out what I wanted.

LOL, exactly. They're good for some things, not for other things.

Went and looked at a refresh Palisade and a refresh Atlas today. Didn't drive either but I will. Palisades are back to MSRP at Fitzgerald! Still a $3k markup on Tellurides.

LOL yeah a lot of people that know me, including my mailman, would laugh at me when driving it. I kind of liked it because it was so small that I could park it anywhere for running around town. Not a car to be driven on a trip or big highways but I managed.

here is a pic, it was a special edition one and you will laugh too.
