But I'm a sucker for all kinds of wood and leather. LS430 they went to high end hotels as a part of the R&D when designing/engineering the interior. For the seats they looked at all kinds of first class seats, and modeled after British Airways First Class.
Ive never seen an airline seat that looked anything like an LS430 seat lol, I think that’s just marketing BS.
The 430 and 400 did have great seats though. The last generation of the springy suspension seats. All seats today are made with layers of foam and have no bounce. 460 seats were not as comfortable and were redone and made better for 2013.

it doesn't creak like leather, nor does it get as cold in winter or as hot in summer (or so they say lol)
Thats a Japanese thing. They prefer wool to leather.
I would never buy an old car to drive as a daily driver. I would buy a cool old car that meant something to me as a fun car like a classic, sure.
This is not true. Fine leathers are not a byproduct of meat, cows are bred and grown solely for their skin, and their meat is used for animal food etc.
So sure the basic leather in a Camry may be byproduct leather, but higher end leathers in the kind of cars we drive is not.
.
Nah. If you take high end manufacturers like Bentley and Rolls Royce they source their leather from areas where there is no barbed wire (so the hide hasn't been scarred by rubbing against it) - usually from Southern Germany or Scandinavia. They only take bull hides (less stretch) and they visually inspect them for marks. Other than that they confirm it's a by product of the beef industry, sustainable, and the carcass ends up on the plate. Getting value for the hides keeps the price of your steak down.

Not going to argue with you, but this just isn’t correct.

Yeah it is. I have a close friend who is a Vet in the food animal industry and is 100% what happens, they never waste anything they could otherwise make money on. Only the ultra high end leathers are made solely for leather and even then the meat etc is still used

What does a vet know about the leather tanning industry? I’m a real estate agent does that mean i know how shingles are produced? Yes the hide is used, but it’s not used for fine leather goods or in high end cars like we have. Those manufacturers use specialty leathers and the animals are bred and harvested specifically for the leather. Of course nothing goes to waste.
Not all cows are created equal or for the same purpose. You don’t get high grade beef from a milk cow or a hide steer. Bred for different purposes.
At the end of the day, it’s about just not wanting to sit on the skin of a dead animal for people like my wife and others.

Just the first LS the amount of time they spent over here in America studying what we like and don't etc, was amazing. And look at how well the result turned out.

You can believe it if you want. They say stuff like that to make you feel special having bought such a vehicle, and it works. It’s like saying a “designer of fine hotels designed the gracious layout of the dash” what sense does that make? Why would a hotel designer be good at designing a car dashboard? Or the whole “Yamaha chose the wood” it’s paper thin veneer on a plastic backing. What would Yamaha know about that? They build pianos out of solid wood. Fine Corinthian leather. “We tuned the sound of the door jambs to evoke the feel of closing a fine cabinet door” Just puffery. Lexus goes over the top with it trying to prove they belong in the conversation. Note Mercedes doesn’t say stuff like that.
In reality a vehicle seat engineer designed the seats (he’s a member of the forum, actually), they don’t look anything like any airline seat and in fact they are nothing like a international first class seat, even back in the 90s.
