General Car Conversation
Steven Pitbull is so right about Pirellis, just look at this garbage. This is my wifes car, it is 1.5 years old with 10k miles - took a close look at the tires today, and the thread depth is still good, but they are dry rotted. Last week when I was replacing 4 year old PSS with 31k miles on my daughters car they had none of this nonsense. Just ordered a set of PS4 for her.
which brings me to my next issue with Steve, he sees himself as some kind of high profile celebrity who's 'too big' for little jobs he won't have an opportunity to replace parts on... but depending on what you need done I'd say more often than not his shop is a great place to go
Drove my friends Toyota MR2 GT back in the day when it was new.
Car felt light as a feather and when I stomped the gas it felt like my hind end was strapped into a slingshot when floored. lol
Wasn't a supercar but it's just 2 seats and an engine and funn as hell to drive!

you know steve?!? I've used him several times, his shop is very impressive and the work is fairly priced but he's just such a whacko at times (overly eccentric maybe? lol) good mechanics don't seem to stick around too long... a few summers ago I actually did some video production work for his shop and youtube channel

Yeah, he's a great dude, once a while I take my cars to his shop just to yap with him, but for the most part I take them either to the dealer or to Bay Diagnostics here in Brooklyn. He is just a bit too far out on LI for me, but he's a character, and his videos are awesome.
As far as his prices, I think he charges too little, maybe the cost of running a business on LI is less than what I'm used to here in Brooklyn.
Mine had the same pop up sunroof. You could also completely remove the glass to have it fully open. There was storage for the glass in the front trunk.
For your consideration and maximum success I recommend starting a new thread in the IS or GS forum for the Gen/model you are considering.
Hint- for more replies and feedback, recommend telling the story and what you're looking for and make it interesting so it attracts many replies and ideas.. Cheers.
Oh it made sense since day one, if I said it was stupid I worded it wrong. I originally figured it was for off roading so you’ll know to get your butt back towards a gas station if you’re off the beaten path but I suppose towing too because Tundras are the same with the low fuel lights. There are approximately 4 gallons left when the light comes on.
Not necessarily. My LS430 distance to empty is very accurate down to a few miles. I've run out of gas before also learned the hard way, a broken down Lexus LS in front of a BMW dealer. Pretty mortifying and funny.
That actually really surprises me. All of my Lexus' have probably 50 miles of range after they say 0.
That's the 'Two gallon reserve' as I call it. Example 2IS has a 17.2 Gallon tank but I can only put in 15 gallons unless I go past 0. Once you hit 0 there is roughly 1.5-2 gallons left to drive on but I would not get into a habit of going past 0 as you risk the fuel pump overheating. But in an emergency or you're out in the middle of nowhere, that extra 50 miles could be the difference in finding a gas station or being stranded.
