Yeah, not surprised. I'm sure the dealer has done those battery replacements many times. Funny you're wife liked the 4Runner. It's fun to drive a "tough toy" vehicle. Did she like it more than your previous Grand Cherokees?
She said for driving around town she did like it more than the Jeeps, she wasn't so sure about like a long highway trip. She said she was really surprised by how much she liked it.

I will say this about Chrysler, they may make a crappy car...but they stand behind their crappy cars. I have never been given one ounce of trouble from Chrysler about approving any repair, diagnosing any issue, as many problems as I have had they have always fixed my vehicle as well as they could and I have never been made to feel like a problem or unreasonable. Contrast that to Mercedes. My Pacifica went in yesterday on a tow truck with no appointment, I was given a free loaner with no bull**** terms or radius or mileage, and I had it back fixed today. My Mercedes, with a 2 week advance appointment they had it 4 days and never looked at it, so I took it back, then I put it back in for another appointment booked 10 days in advance, they have it 3 more days, finally look at it...and give it back to me and tell me I'm crazy. I asked if there was an engineer or someone from MB they could escalate it to to see if they could feel what I'm feeling, flatly told no. No resolution is possible, go away.
Of all the cars I have had, the company that has stood behind their product the best for me has been Chrysler...no question. Lexus tried to screw me around a few times too, but Chrysler never has.
That's an interesting thought. If I were leasing and getting a new car every 3 years, I think I'd actually prefer a terrible car (from a reliability perspective) with fantastic service to the opposite. Since I typically buy long term, I'd actually lean the other way (fantastic car with terrible service) because it's going to spend most of its service life at an indy anyway. But it is good thought exercise.

It is a good thought excercise...it does kind of make me want to buy another Chrysler.
This time my longtime service advisor is gone too, and with Lexus and Mercedes that has been a bad thing...I always have to break in a new one. With Chrysler the service was 100% the same as it was with him.
That’s an interesting piece of information. Maybe this is why I see as many of these as other Toyota/Honda vans. What would be another Chrysler that interests you? Speaking of service. My local bmw has been wonderful. A step above Lexus dealership where they have me as VIP customer. I don’t care but I never felt anything special/personal from Lexus. That’s totally different from this bmw. They don’t do anything crazy but you can feel it.

The only think they make that would interest me are Jeeps, specifically the Grand Cherokee.
I felt great about MB until this latest thing about this engine vibration...I had those couple early issues that they fell all over themselves to remedy...

They are oddly good at service, I actually never had an issue with them on my 15 and 17 trucks. I didn't like the fact that 17 degraded on me so quickly but they always fixed it correctly and quickly

4Runner is not gonna win you races or win a manoeuvring race. I doubt the Pacifica will either. But you get a commanding view. Lots of space. Solid and strong ride. Just keep in mind the rear hatch is manual

I’m not sure how I feel about your perspective. I really don’t like going to service for anything and thank god I have only had to go to service twice with my X7 so far, once for an oil change and once for a software update to correct the traffic jam assist. My Tesla service experience has been less than ideal and it’s pretty far away which makes it worse but now my cruise control doesn’t work. I’m hoping the software update tonight fixes it or it’s another trip back to the service center.

it's good at the chrysler dealer because they have lots of practice. being a bit more serious though, if you have a lot of problems with the cars, then fighting customers is only going to make for a miserable job. might as well be courteous, helpful, people appreciate it.
