Even apart from the batteries, Chrysler products have also not been known for particularly good electrical systems. That was the case even way back in the late 1960s when I first learned to drive on Chrysler products.
That or you get one that is perfection and doesn't ever have an issue. Really that's Chryslers problem across the board, you can get anything from a car that outshines Toyota reliability or one that makes Hyundai look good.

100%, its hit or miss. My 2011 Grand Cherokee was a disaster, 2014 GC was great. 2017 Pacifica, disaster, 2020 Pacifica has been great until now...and to its credit I have been ignoring that warning for months...
Fun for a weekend off-roader, but nowhere near refined enough for a DD. Had one as a rental a few months ago, and it was fine but I wouldn't buy one unless it was as a toy.
Over two decades ago, I had one of these and I regret right after I drove off the lot. Lol. I bought it for the look. I still think it's the best looking Runner. I was hesitant and really did my homework when I was getting the GX. It sure is a much nicer SUV but after awhile it became so cumbersome as a DD. Speaking of these two vehicles, I saw a runner with a GX grille. Even I knew it wasn't the GX, I was confused what it was. It had Toyota logo on the grille. This is quite a nice mod. I wonder how they do it because there's a bumper on the runner where the grille is now over.
I took some shots of some funny car stickers today on my dealer travels (Chrysler does loaners out of their Toyota dealer):
Hellcat. I love the markup AND a commission?!
Rubicon 392, this is not an ADM...this is the MSRP. Although a HEMI Wrangler is pretty cool:
I posted this in the Sequoia thread. Sequoia Capstone:
I was checking out some dealers recently too. Even without mark up, these prices are crazy. Toyota/Lexus vehicles are not that much good bargain compared to German counterparts. We're doomed. These car prices are going out of wack.
Funny how many companies still build vehicles with horrendous gas mileage, yet Toyota and Honda decided to downsize their engines by citing inefficiency. Honda could have had a nice V8 many years ago when German V12's were around in abundance as well as things like the Excursion. Toyota could have developed a TTV8 for the LS and the LX but no, they claim there was pressure from government regulations. Well, what about BMW, Mercedes, Chrysler, etc with their 15 mpg designs? They get a free pass?

Oh I know, its crazy.

The regulations are just part of it, Toyota & Lexus absolutely can build big engines still, in fact its easier for them to do so because they sell so many small economical cars as Toyotas. They choose not to because those things are niche markets and they don't want to make cars for niche markets.
Makes little sense I agree, but its just how Toyota is. Should have had a TTV8 in development long ago
Yeah, not surprised. I'm sure the dealer has done those battery replacements many times. Funny you're wife liked the 4Runner. It's fun to drive a "tough toy" vehicle. Did she like it more than your previous Grand Cherokees?
