I'm not entirely convinced thats what it is. The tow truck driver couldn't get it jumped either and had to tow it. He said the car was telling him that it wasn't in park and thats why it wouldn't start. Hooked up to cables all the accessories work fine. So, he towed it.
When my wife tried to start it and when I tried to start it we both got a lout "POP" sound...which was a little disconcerting.
My daughter is home sick, and today is my son's first day back from having been sick all week last week so my wife needs a car, so I had to Uber to work lol. My assistant is about to take me over to the dealer to get a loaner.

The Suburban is a beast but is incredibly nimble when pulling into parking spaces. Fit and finish on our LT model is really nice. The Suburban is too big for us so I would likely buy Tahoe/Yukon. I asked my wife and kids last night to name at least 1 thing they like about our SUV more than the rental and the only thing anyone came up with is our LX has rear heated seats (which I'm sure is an option on higher trims of the Suburban). 2nd row captain chairs are awesome, tons of room. And the amount of rear storage without the jump seats in the way like our LX is the biggest driving factor for me.
I used to rent 2019 or 2020 Yukon/Tahoe's and get back in our LX and feel the LX was a "tighter" vehicle with better ride quality, but I don't think I'll be feeling that way after this experience. Granted I'm comparing a 2010 and a 2022, but I was always comparing an older Lexus to all kinds of other newer cars and still preferring either my LS or the LX to them. That's not feeling like the case any longer.
I have a feeling if car prices ever calm down, I'll likely not have a Toyota/Lexus product in my garage for the first time in 20 years. The LS got replaced by a Model Y and I don't think the new Sequoia is in the running to replace the LX.
New Suburbans are really great, I really liked the one I rented.
Here she goes:
For those of you playing the home game, the Pacifica's life in my garage after this is on borrowed time lol
Is it similar to the MB's 48v issue? Once down, it has to be towed? Sorry to hear. Maybe it's time for a new vehicle like you've been wanting. I was at the dealer the other day and it looks like their stocks are filled up more and discounts are more generous.
Yep. Just happened to my buddy’s Wrangler last week. FCA’s battery management system isn’t the best. Not to mention the batteries themselves don’t seem to be high quality.
Even apart from the batteries, Chrysler products have also not been known for particularly good electrical systems. That was the case even way back in the late 1960s when I first learned to drive on Chrysler products.

Not typically no. The service guy at the dealer thought it would jump, he was surprised it didn’t.

Maybe! I texted her and asked “can we buy a real car now?”
On a different note, do you all miss driving your cars when you’re away? Been driving a RHD car, manual with my left hand, on the left side of the road in the UK for nearly 2 weeks. My GS is patiently waiting for me at the Seattle airport. Lord, I can’t wait to drive it. Heck, I’m also chomping at the bit to drive my Tundra.
With that said, I’m reminded how much I love driving a manual and my rental MG HS has been a willing partner, but I’m ready to drive my own vehicles.
That's a really nice color on the van. Dark blue has always been highly attractive and it looks like that product did wonders on that paint. You've mentioned how you want to replace your S next year with possibly a RR or Hyundai but what is going to replace the van?

The POP sound is definitely disconcerting, but I want to reemphasize that the no-jump start issue is par for the course. There's a ton of threads on this in the JL Wrangler forums. The info screen will pop up all sorts of messages in this state.

I always like dark blue too. I'd like to replace it with some sort of 3 row crossover. A Telluride or Palisade, Grand Highlander, something like that.

Thats good to know, we'll see. The pop felt like it came from behind me too...
Wow! Beautiful vehicle. You should look into one of these (if they make a 3-row version, not sure if they still do). Much more capable than any crossover, much more appeal, more unique, and pretty awesome overall.
Fun for a weekend off-roader, but nowhere near refined enough for a DD. Had one as a rental a few months ago, and it was fine but I wouldn't buy one unless it was as a toy.
