I obviously don't drive in the DC area with any frequency, but I was on I66 and the Beltway in October, and was able to use adaptive CC in early rush-hour traffic with no problem. People are going to scoot in front of me no matter what.
In October they were just finishing up the latest round of construction on I66 (still not completely done), and opening the first fully-paved lanes, Conditions were starting to improve. But, as you say, you don't drive here regularly....consider yourself fortunate.
This is hardly the first time he's gotten that feedback. Every time I see it happen I'm like "Is this what being "mansplained" to feels like?" lol
I clearly connotated the difference between being condescending and mansplaining. Those who don't like my posts don't have to read them or respond to them. We can all get along like adults.

I agree that people will scoot no matter what.
66 is like a whole new road now that the construction is closing out. Its amazing.
I’m at the car wash getting the Pacifica mini-detailed (what a disaster it always is) and there’s a new QX60 in front of me, it’s really sharp. I will have to give one of those a serious look
New QX60 is a big and sorely needed update. Only dealbreaker might be with the 3rd row. The headrests back there are super funky and kind of jam the head of the occupant, even those of children, pretty far forward.

Yes, that jut-forward feature on some headrests is not always the most comfortable, but supposedly it is being done on many newer vehicles for safety-reasons....to keep the distance between the back of one's head and the rest itself to an absolute minimum, to lessen the chances of a whiplash in an rear-ender accident.
Cars with historic tags here you can only drive on the weekends and federal holidays....WTF?
Historic and Antique tags are usually meant for driving primarily to and from officially-sponsored auto shows and/or club-meets (which are usually held on weekends)....not for typical everyday commuting, errands, road-trips, etc.... That's why those plates are either free or very inexpensive in many states.

Thats a bummer, the third row was one of the only highlights of the previous car.

Here you can only drive a limited amount of miles and only to and from "shows and events" and not for commuting. Clearly, this LS430 was not being used in that manner lol. But you also have very low registration cost, no emissions testing, etc.
They mail your something or you go online to, it's really not a big deal.
That said, I've had expired tags a bunch in my younger years lol.
Imagine though if you had 5 of them, or 10, or 25? Thats really what its for, so that people like that dont have to have all those cars emissions tested and pay all those registration fees. That would be a big PITA.
@UZ214@Striker223@LexsCTJill about the brake sensors on the LS from the thread that got closed. Theyre just like Mercedes, they are reusable if you havent worn the brakes down to where the warning comes on to replace the pads, but once you do that they have to be replaced. The sensors work by having a coating that gets worn off by the brake rotor that creates a curcuit that lights up the warning. Once that happens they are no longer reusable. I never bought a new set of sensors and always reused them too because I always replaced the pads before they got that low.
