I believe the only vehicle it moves to the HUD on is BMW...they have the best Carplay integration I have experienced.
I'm not going to argue there. OEM still has an edge over iMap. Much better at pin pointing/lane indication (of course the real enthusiasts don't need this ) and at certain points during route, not sure how they decide on this, it displays the surrounding map on the HUD and highlights the route to show you where the turn will be.

Nothing beats the dip in the van's trunk. For trip like this, I do miss my GX. It doesn't have the dip but I could load up all the way and can access through the pop out window.

My son has the big Mazda and it’s big enough for wife, two kids, a Labrador and all their gear.
You wouldn’t be able to fit all that in a CX-9 with the third row up and still be able to see out the rear window, that’s the big difference between a minivan and an SUV/crossover. Believe me, I wish you could because I would much rather have a CX-9.
They have started working on my truck. I got a good look at part of the frame. Seriously impressive. This rig could tow its whole life just fine with a frame like that.
Finished the testing period for the X-type, we drove it as much as possible for the last week to stack miles on and 750 later there appear to be no issues at all.
Since that was done I drove the 460 for the first time in a week and damn....I forgot how good it is and how massively it outclasses normal cars. My parents held thanksgiving dinner today since my dad is not off Thursday and on the drive up I had a fantastic time lets call it, when we came back near my house I took the backroads and really worked the tires/brakes a bit. It's amazing to drive cars like this since they can go from concealing speed to the point 60 feels like 30 in near silence to 130 through sweepers and blasting past cars on a two lane. It's hard to go back to something else and it's so nice when you return to cars like this, I am hoping it gets a little warmer again so I can take the A8 out at least one more time this year before putting it on wheel holders for winter.
A Ford Expedition or Lincoln Navigator, particularly the long wheelbase versions, could probably also handle it.
Well yeah, they’re the same size as a Tahoe or Suburban. Those vehicles are way bigger physically outside though. Can’t beat the space efficiency of a minivan.

Oh it’s amazing when you get back in the LS or something like it.

It is. Did the 460 have plush headrests that feel like pillows? It's the little things like that. I really want my truck back but driving the LS for the past couple weeks has been great, it's good to drive it a stretch.

They weren’t quite as plush as what the 400 and 430 had, I remember that too. My S Class has plush butterfly headrests that remind me of that…

Lol I remember when I first got it and put my head back into the pillowy headrest for the first time...thinking, "damn this really is a luxury car and they thought of everything" Lol.

And you can press your head into it as hard as you can and you never feel anything hard!
On the 400, in the door pull where your fingers touched inside was also the softest padded leather.

Not sure actually, I don't normally setup my seats with my head touching them in any car. I'll let you know later
I love having the headrests close enough so I can rest my head back on them on a long trip. Best in that regard was my GS350 because it had BMW style articulating backrests. S Class works pretty well because the headrests slide forward and back in addition to up and down
