I will pass and wait for the next iteration which hopefully will improve on the exterior design, and in the mean time, I have neither the desire or need to consider a Tesla ...

I've watched every review, almost all of them are still very negative on the styling.

"May not love it but I don't hate it" doesnt work with a $120,000 flagship luxury vehicle IMO.

Hah, agree. Idk if anyone ever notices or not but they totally dubbed junk sounds into that Aztec. It had a V6 (that was a dog), but they dubbed a 4cyl junker sound in every time we hear the engine. Aztec was still slower than hell but it at least had probably a not terrible V6 engine sound.

A lot of people really love the W221 S Class, the Bangle 7 was a disaster and BMW refreshed it and made it more normal looking as soon as they could. The issue with the EQS is just not meh styling, its not easily fixed as its the whole concept of the car's shape.

In the U.S. the full-Bangle pre-refresh model sold better than when they softened it with the refresh. In fact, no 7-series has ever sold as well as it did during the years 2002 and 2003. Quite remarkable.

The W221 was also widely panned at its introduction because of the bulbous fenders but I agree, still not as divisive as the EQS.

W221s were GORGEOUS after a few years and a nip and tuck, IMO at least.

Those may have been controversial but nobody ever accused them of looking like an oversized economy car.

I don’t pay attention to the MB code numbers. I think you are referring to above.

yes you've now made your opinion point several times.

Just like someone pointed out the hideous bangle 7 series did well, i think this eqs will do well regardless of what the 'herd' thinks, the vast majority of whom would not or could not buy one no matter how it looked.

That would depend on how many Mercedes actually plans to sell here. The target market of the EQS is China, so I assume that's where most of the cars will get shipped. I doubt the EQS will outnumber the S-Class on dealer lots in the U.S. or Europe anytime soon.

I'm part of this 'herd" . I cannot see myself in an S class regardless of the propulsion system simply because I don't want to acknowledge that I'm a "old" guy. I see an S class and I think I have to be over 65 to be driving one. 😄

Having said that however, if the "design" of concept version of the EQS had made it into production (and not morphed into a big 90's Civic - I could see myself in that car.
