and i can already sense swajames rolling eyes for me quoting amirza's post. the reason is many of amirza's posts are only about politics and rants about the war, etc. sure one of the war's impact are increased gas prices, but clublexus is not a place to debate the war. plenty of other places (reddit, x, etc.) to do that.
Good thing I saw this post in time to modify some wordings to remain in compliance with your new rules.
I'm not defending these prices but it has been worse, in 2008 it was bad like this, even worse adjusted for inflation. It would have been $6.13 in today's dollars at $4 in 2008, that's how much it was then here.
Ok my gas was $3.60/g 2 months ago, how much was that in 2008 money, $2.35/g? Why not go farther back, say...200 B.C. when its equivalent to 3 virgins maidens and a goat?

WTF is wrong with me stating the fact that $4 gas in 2008 is $6.12 in today's dollars, it's been worse before.. That doesn't mean it sucks any less.
I said a million times I wasn't defending these high prices and that they suck. I own gas guzzlers. A romp or two in the MB or LX or GMC will move the gas gauge lol.

That's just ridiculous -- Why you gettin' all bent out of shape?
I agree with AJT123 and everyone else that's stated that we haven't hit any new high. It feels just as high back then, as it does now. All those people complaining around 2022-ish about how high the gas prices were getting are all of a sudden silent as they pay those same gas/diesel prices now.
Until it hits $8-$10 a gallon, it's still been there, done that. We still have it much cheaper than Europe.

In good faith…and just a suggestion…perhaps the mods might want to close this thread and maybe ban the topic of gas prices. personally had always thought gas price topic was banned on this forum. surprised way back in 2025 when this thread was opened that the topic of gas prices was allowed.
it is extremely difficult to have any sort discussion on the topic of gas or oil without some sort of political angle. Pretty much everyone agrees that politics is embedded in gas policy.
if one goes back to the very original post in this thread, there was a hidden political message written in the original post
Spoiler
anyways deleting and moderating 40 messages is a lot of work, my heart goes out to mods for doing all the great work they do
