Yes, it is something they've earned with their service.

Now the members, extended family members, etc. that were brought in by the Veteran, not so much.

You are correct in members being loyal, but it's also a matter of convenience for some with having everything under one roof like their mortgage, homeowner's ins, auto and boat ins, etc.

You have the knowledge of seeing homeowner's having issues with USAA when it comes to their homeowner's ins policies, or even the cost of them.

Thankfully, we haven't had to file a claim, and maybe it's not worth it or we just can't be bothered to shop around, as we've been with them for years upon years.

I sure hope Progressive doesn't try to f... us without the lube. Just did a quick online quote with Erie - a hair under $8K/year for the cars in my signature. 3 cars/4 drivers on the policy (yours truly, wife, 25 and 18 yo daughters - all with clean driving records, no claims). 18yo will be leaving for college next semester (go Hoosiers!, f... cash strapped Illini)....

Yeah, that seems high. I'm at $6k per year for three vehicles, nothing older than 2024 and they all have full coverage.

The issues I have seen aren't with the service its with the price, the premiums I see for homeowners from USAA are really high.

How does that compare to Progressive? Like I said when I left Allstate 2-3 years ago Progressive was way cheaper than Erie, but two renewals later they were slightly more.

Hard to compare in really different areas. So much goes into it that can differ between people.

IIRC, it was right around $4K.

I would call and Erie agent and have them quote it vs doing it online. In my case the original quote was not too far off from that, I think Progressive was $2,200 and Erie was $3,600...two renewals later Progressive was $3,800 and Erie was $3,800...so I went with Erie.

I'm pretty sure I'll get a follow-up phone call from the actual agent (the online quote was emailed to him). We'll see.... We still have almost 2 months till renewal.

To keep this on topic:

My usual Costco in SW burbs of Chicago - regular $3.49, premium $4.39... I filled up couple days ago, and the regular was ~$3.15.

I know what you said originally, that’s why I said what I said after it.

We are guilty of not shopping around and comparing the cost of our current policy to what’s out there — but we also don’t see significant increases in our premiums year over year that would cause us to pause and take notice. They’ve remained steady with the market trends.

Yes, we digressed… Let’s get back on track.

Our local Costco gas prices have NOT changed in the last couple days…

Below is the today’s check from MAR 7th which is the same as my MAR 5th post.

Just paid $3.24 at Sam's for 93. Not terrible but on the rise definitely.

We're around $3.15 - $3.25 station dependent, rising a bit every day.
