Gas Prices
Gas prices in my area (VA/D.C. Suburbs) have dropped significantly in the last few weeks. Even with only a few Giant-Food gas-discount points, I paid less than $3 a gallon today for good Shell gas, not cheap stuff without detergent additives. It's been a long time (at least several years) since I've seen that kind of price here for Top-Tier gas brands in the D.C. area. I won't get into the reasons why, because IMO it is political......but nevertheless, I think it deserves noting, since it impacts so many of us in our wallets.
And, it's even more interesting in this case, since gas prices often rise this time of year as temperatures warm, schools get close to letting out for the summer, families plan or start summer vacations, and demand for gas goes up nationwide.

Thank you @mmarshall .
Wife just reminded me tonite that we need gas and have only 15 miles range left.
And I forgot again so I'm getting gas later today.
I always get the gas, she has never does and that's ok.

I'm stuck over here in WA WA land with @JDR76 and got no reprieve / relief, whatever...
EDIT: Just checked my local Costco -- it's Reg $3.79 / gal --- Premium $4.44 / gal

Yeah, that's what I'm used to at every gas station in IL, except Costco. When I filled up there last week, it was $4.03 for 93 and $3.29 for 87. Driving down to TX, the difference is no where near that much. We actually stopped at a Buc-ee's in MO, where 93 and 91 were both $2.99. I think 87 was around $2.60 something.
I saw Shell regular (a very highly-rated brand) for less than $3.00 today (actual pump-price without added-discount), just a couple of miles from my house. Haven't seen that for at least several years.
(It was not at the same station I mentioned in the OP when I started the thread).
