I filled up the Pacifica today for the first time since before the Iran War started. The price here in Central Ohio was $4.63 per gallon. The war "surcharge" cost me about an extra $20.00.
Now I don't drive much and most of it is on electric. Sure do feel for those who have to fill up more frequently.
Last throws of a dying regime. Navy ships are all sunk. They have some remaining so-called Fast Boats. Six more sunk via attack helicopters after harassing merchant vessels which none were struck.
As Iran runs out of refined fuels while at the same time runs out of storage for oil, it will be interesting to see the impending collapse unfold. Meanwhile... mines are being cleared and two US flagged merchant ships successfully transited the straight.
if iran cant export oil they are going to run out of storage space, and will have to shut in their wells which damages the well. It takes a long time to reestablish flow when you open it up again. Venezuelan crude exports are back up to 2018 levels. US regained the title for biggest refined goods exporter since WW2 thanks to the gulf coast states. Meanwhile Cali gets 30% of its oil from the middle east and 25% of its refined products from asia shipped on dirty bunker oil burning ships.

I live where the corn is grown, and yet current E85 prices are somehow right in between midgrade and premium. Take the 25-30% lower energy content/gallon into account and it costs roughly $8 to get you as far as a $5 gallon of regular does.
I've heard claims before that using Midwestern corn for E85 takes away from the general food supply and helps raise prices. But, from what I understand, the corn used to distill ethanol is not the grade of corn that you would want to put on your dinner table.....it is barely fit for farm-animals.

In general, I agree.....but one delaying factor could be now much oil the Russians are able to sneak into Iran from the North....where our blockades have no effect. At one time, there was a common border between Iran and Russia, but, now, there are several buffer-states in between...Armenia, Tajikistan, Georgia, Kazakstan, etc..... The Russians cannot deliver oil to Iran by land, but the might (?) be able to deliver some by sailing down the Caspian Sea by tankers, or by air.
I feel you. I put $88 in the GS on Friday and $118 in the Tundra on Saturday.
If you're putting in that much at a time, you may (?) be letting the tank get too low. For several different reasons, especially as a vehicle gets older and dirt builds up in the tank, it is not a good idea to let the tank get below one-quarter full.

No, gas is just expensive. I put 14 gallons in the GS’s 18 gallon tank and 18 gallons in the Tundra’s 38 gallon tank.
