I had 20s on my GS 450h. Looking good + better handling> losing MPG. To me. I’ve had many conversations in the wheel business about people concerned about losing mpg with their hybrid or EV if they go with wider wheels and tires etc.
ON topic I will say that if this **** drags on I will be looking at a 2x more expensive refill of my 400 gal diesel tank near the end of summer....
Off topic but I gotta ask. Do you really post over 200 times a month? Member since 2019 with nearly 18,000 posts.
Not as many as MM who has over 341 posts per month. Can that be correct?
Car sales overall are down EV and ICE. The economy is sputtering along. Tesla has the EV advantage due to size. Everyone else is struggling. Oddly Toyota did okay so far.
Also throwing a $80,000 solution to a $400 a month possible temporary problem, isn't a solution. I just don't see people wanting to buy cars with this uneasy economy and billionaires might fight over a Ferrari but they won't buy or fight over a Tesla or Camry. In other words the people who buy in bulk won't be buying. And this is a GLOBAL problem.
I agree, I never understood it either but I remember headlines saying everyone was buying hybrids during the last gas crisis.
A quick google search shows that used Ev sales are indeed increasing, 20% yoy from last year. new car EV sales are declining.

a lot of people don't think that way...
scenario, they have a year left on their car's loan at $600/mo. dealer will "work with them" to get them into a hybrid on a new 6 year loan also at $600/mo. they will save $50/mo. on gas, they go for it to not only "save money" (untrue) but to have a shiny new car to cheer them up.

Many people always have car payments so cars are just a monthly expense. These people are better off leasing actually.
It is likely real, one of the most critical refineries for high end lubricants base stocks was hit. I went out and bought 300 quarts of my usual oil at the old price for my personal cars the day after I saw it was hit, I try and track where my stuff comes from and I knew that would be an issue for a few years.
I've read Cali has received it's last shipment of oil from ME, and likely prices in Cali will go up to at least $10 per gallon. We're in what, month 3 of the 1 day special military operation?

It's flawless logic tho! Their monthly outlay goes down so they are saving the difference!
