Personally speaking. I think the plug in part is kinda pointless. But I know you both appreciate them
I’m at the⛽️ more these days without the PHEV Rav. Around town I could go MONTHS and THOUSANDS of miles on 1 tank of gas vs now I’m averaging maybe a week or on a tank of gas.
You know, I actually have done this in drive-thrus in extreme cases. Our X3 has auto stop-start, but our IS500 does not... and boy howdy, does it drink fuel when idling. So if it seems like the line isn't moving, I just shut the car off. I would like to think it saves me a little fuel as long as the car is off for more than a few seconds. But I also don't like shutting the engine off and turning it back on repeatedly, so I try to do this only once per drive-thru. lol!
And no, the IS 500 doesn't do drive-thru duty THAT much, but any excuse to take it out for a spin is considered, including a random pit stop.
In the summer I often shut my truck off in the drivethru as the radiator fans can be quite loud and make it hard to hear the employee over the speaker.
and many to an irrational extent, driving extra distance and waiting in long lines to save a few cents a gallon as they sip their $7 starbucks drink.
Yeah, I never understood that.....it also never made sense to me seeing people buy new cars to "save money on gas" when the math worked out to higher expenses per month by a large margin. I've told them "just be honest, you want a new car"
I will admit I try and only put gas in the S580 on Tuesdays because its Shell 20c off premium Tuesdays lol. Right now it has 1/8th of a tank waiting for tomorrow

Well that's understandable....no sense in spending more than needed after all. I also only get shell and try to maximize discounts since it's nice to see like $1.50 off a gallon
I always get my gas at Costco. It's near my office and it's 50 cents cheaper per gallon vs the gas stations near my house. I never wait long in line either.
I see a 6th gen 4Runner iForce max hybrid in your future.
no dark blue
in all honesty, my eyeballs are set on a new Subaru and I don’t go through the drive thru for my Starbucks…I go right inside to the shopping mall Starbucks
