That 4.4 twin turbo V8 in the 850 seems like a beast of an engine.
Would an engine like that in the LS have made you consider one more seriously?
Even if they put a detuned version of the 5.0L V8 in the LS500, it would’ve sold more. Actually, even if they do nothing and put on the previous gen 4.6L V8, it would’ve done better.

I have not been fortunate enough to drive an LS 460, but I have driven a previous-gen Genesis with the 5.0 V-8. It was a nice car, but the engine really made the car. It was super smooth and torquey. It's hard to imagine that car with any other engine... though nowadays, the twin-turbo V-6 is the up-level option on that car. I suspect it's a fine engine, but there truly is no replacement for that V-8.
So, extrapolating that to the LS, I can imagine a similar effect. I have been in the back seat of an older LS 430 before, and yeah... the engine was a smooth-running one, and the whole experience was very serene.

Only replacement would be a TTV8, Super V8, V10, V12 in ascending order of desirability lol!

Idk if Genesis are good vehicles long term but came across Genesis with the 5L V8 today and I was advised to stay away from it. It did look good sitting there.

Genesis was absent from the T.O. Auto Show. They used to be in the shows and for the first time pulled out.
Genesis has a huge problem...lack of hybrids
back to BMW,.....No 3 series but BMW rocked the show.
