Tesla Full Self Driving Thread
I used it for over 1000 miles on my last trip to SoCal, and it made no mistakes, made it's way around slower traffic, drove better than every driver around me, and I didn't have to pay attention except for every now and then look at the road. For long trips, I will always pay $99 to use it. I would say try it yourself before coming to conclusions.
BTW there is no effort required, you just sit back and let the car do it's thing

Honestly no offense but it seems wreckless that you don't pay attention when Tesla themselves don't trust their own tech.
I've seen many examples of FSD failing and causing an accident / almost causing an accident before the driver intervenes. Then the comments are "you should have taken over sooner!", "it's your fault! It says to pay attention and clearly you weren't, no one to blame but yourself".

The only folks constantly repeating themselves over and over ad infinitum, about how pointless FSD is are the ones who don't own a Tesla.....
We get it loud and clear. Can we please move on? It's ok to think it's pointless, why repeat the same thing over and over again? 🤔

Not saying its "pointless", its amazing technology but for me if I have to sit there and look straight ahead then I'd rather just drive. If I can text and email or watch a movie or something thats a different story.
Its not for everybody.
You have to look straight ahead because that's what the law requires until FSD is approved to be fully autonomous. Once FSD is fully approved that requirement will go away
You are going to have to show me those examples. I had it for 5 months prior, and just ended a 2 month subscription where I used it 65 percent of the time over 2000 miles, and not once did it do anything dangerous. Mistakes were more changing a lane when it shouldn't have and almost missing an exit, but it did nothing that comes close to dangerous. My brother in law uses it 100 percent of the time and same story as mine. Who am I to believe, you who never used it, or my own experience and others I personally know?
All it takes is a few seconds of you being inattentive and be in a situation where it causes a minor to a major accident like the incidents below.

So because you or your brother has never had anything go wrong mean nothing will? Imo this just doesn't sound reasonable. You don't have to believe me, believe the company that makes the software. Tesla would have already implemented FSD without the need to pay attention and making billions. There must be a reason why, no?

So showing an example less than a month ago, with Tesla updated view that shows the car is in FSD mode is instant disqualification?
Wouldnt be shocked if I used fsd and posted an example of a mistake it made while I was driving and you disqualify my own eyes as a source and tell me not to trust them.

The examples consisted 3 that were more recent, 27 days ago, 25 days ago and 11 days ago. Not sure if you missed them?

me even an inch. You can choose not to use it or trust it, and I respect that. As far as I'm concerned, this is the future, it works beautifully (though not perfectly), is safer than any human driver, and that's my position, like it or not. Now I do promise that if it makes any major or dangerous mistakes, I will post it here. Cross my heart
