Tesla Full Self Driving Thread
i’m guessing autopilot was pulled because of lawsuits.

There is definitely some more work to be done before I sit in the backseat without a driver, although the mistakes I've seen haven't been dangerous, just annoying

My biggest issue with it is when I drive on anything other than a highway. It limits max speed too much to be useful for me. There's one stretch where it limits me to 5 over. That may be due to its incorrect info on the actual speed limit of that road, though. FSD don't care!
If anything, FSD speeds too much and there's not exact way to make it slower besides the speed profiles. On hurry mode, seems to want to go 75-78mph on the freeway, which is way into ticket territory.
I'll tell you, last update made Mad Max mode very aggressive. You know those a-holes that constantly change lanes to get around other cars? And it likes to hang around 82 mph. I had to keep putting it in Hurry Mode to calm her down
Right, it doesn't change lanes.

Like for me on the highway I want do do a specific speed. Going with the flow is great on surface roads, but I always set my cruise to 80 on the highway and the idea that FSD wants to choose how fast I am going and I can't tell it "Hey, maintain 80" doesn't appeal to me.
Like Kyle was saying in his video I posted, thats why he prefers Autopilot on the highway and FSD on surface roads.

Makes no sense to me why you can't set a specific speed.
When I had a Y on an overnight test drive a couple of weeks ago, I ended up having to change the mode (sloth, standard, hurry etc) if I wanted the car to go slower or faster.
Having said that, I still prefer FSD to autopilot. Autopilot is kinda "dumb" compared to FSD. All it does is slow down and speed up (to the max speed you set it to) according to what's in front. And when you signal, it changes lanes....

Honestly, on the highway thats what I want. Kyle said the same thing in the video I posted, thats actually what most people need and want. Until I can get my time back and work or read or watch a movie while its driving for me, i've got to sit there and look ahead anyways.

Autopilot: Essential automated assistance — adaptive cruise + lane steering on highways. Best for straightforward, highway cruising.
Full Self-Driving (Supervised): Adds advanced maneuver support — intersections, city streets, complex navigation, automated parking, and enhanced summons. Still not fully autonomous and requires driver engagement.
