I watched it put on the right signal and turn, while displaying the next turn was 17 miles away. I didn't intervene due to being in disbelief of what I was witnessing. It was just strange.
I also still had the same speed limit being stuck on 45 for about 30 miles of road, that varies from 35 to 55. I confirmed today that the issue is only one direction, as it worked as expected on the way to my destination. I just put it in Mad Max mode and let it run 20 over what it was showing, so 65 in what it thought was a 45. I would bring it down to Chill when the limit dropped below 45. I was impressed how it avoided roadkill and for the most part, drives very natural.
Interesting. In Mad Max mode for me it drives like a speed demon, hitting sometimes 85 in a 65 posted speed limit, I have to switch it to Hurry mode to slow it down. In Hurry mode it will drive anywhere from 75 mph to 80 depending on traffic. There must be something about that particular stretch. I'm now over 500 miles using FSD and it so far hasn't made any mistakes, my only complaint would be I wish there was a way to adjust lane changing behavior in all modes because many times it will change lanes to the left lanes near an exit just to get around a slower car just to change lanes back to get off the exit, making me look like an a-hole driver

Exactly why I used it in what it thought was a 45. I was fine running 65 in a 55 with no one around me on a 2 lane road. I usually only use Mad Max mode on the highway.
I also experienced the weird navigation issue today. The map said one thing, but FSD was doing something completely different, but then eventually did a U turn to go back to the original map. I actually took over because there was a better way to go rather than going backwards.

Yeah, there is definitely an issue with the latest update to Maps. My brothers Model Y would park itself in his garage, now it goes to his neighbors driveway 🤣. It will want to make a left when the obvious way is going right. The other day it wanted to take me behind Ralphs supermarket instead of in the front. It's 100 percent a navigation issue because it's the same if I'm using FSD or not. I don't know if it's related to connectivity issues because on my way to SoCal, maps kept going offline, so then it wanted to route me every 10 miles to a supercharger! I had to literally ignore maps and keep going, then it would want me to exit and go back, so I would have to stop and restart navigation. Maybe Tesla employees were anxious to get off for Christmas and rushed the last update
I had another opportunity to use FSD over the weekend and wanted to add a few notes.
I was stopped at a stoplight in the center lane, which included a left turn lane. Someone in the turn lane decided they wanted out and put on their signal. I didn't notice, but FSD did. It slowed down to let them in. It may have even flashed the lights to let them know.
Another time, an ambulance was coming up behind me. The car noticed it, signaled and stopped on the side of the road. In the past I would have to take over. That really impressed me.
I used it a bunch this weekend and it still drives like a new 16 year old driver or someone that isn’t ready to drive in DC traffic when it is stop and go. In DC you had to be aggressive if you want to change lanes and it is very hesitant and just sits there with its blinker on until someone lets the car in vs shooting the gap when there is an opportunity. That is how an inexperienced driver drives and doesn’t work in congested driving.
Second, I’m in the HOV lane, no one around or behind me and it keeps trying to get out of the HOV lane even though there are double solid line to the right of me. I must look like a schizophrenic driver because it kept putting the signal on and I kept turning it off as it tried to get out of the lane.
Third, it tried to turn right on a no turn on red signal although the sign that says that was small.
Lastly, on the beltway it freaked on me today turning the blinkers on left than right and they hazards telling me to take over. People around me must have thought I was nuts. Embarrassing.
Still the best driver aid but not ready for all DC traffic.
Well it's used the heaviest on California roads where there is a combination of driving types. I've driven from Jersey to PA and then to NY, and East Coast drivers are on another level . Let's say next time I'm on the east coast, I'm letting someone else drive 😱
Hmmm, I lived in the tri-state area for many years I didn't find drivers to be especially bad. Well New York City is a whole other level but much of that is due to the roads themselves you have to drive like Death Race 2000 or get run over lol.

In my experience, both NJ and NY drivers are aggressive. PA seemed fine

A big chunk of people living in PA come from Jersey and NY. Where I lived it seemed half the population moved from "the big city" to PA. Somewhat off topic but owning a car in NYC is nuts, it gets beat to hell. Tesla has their work cut out for them trying to make Robotaxi work there.
