TL;DR 4th quarter gross profit of $170M. 51.5k vehicles delivered in 2024

$31K COGS reduction when comparing 4Q23 and 4Q24
we test drove a Rivian truck last night. My spouse loved it.

I think this model will be very popular.

Well my Plaid is officially sold and will be picked up and on its way to San Diego tomorrow. I sold it through Autotrader and while I originally thought it was big PITA at first with all the documents requested and the fact that they don’t let you talk to the buyer until they schedule a test drive, they take all the risk out of it and handle payment, paying off any loans, etc. It did cost $80 for the ad and $455 fee to sell the car which I didn’t know about but well worth the cost and made it easy to sell.

I’m excited to get a new car again even though it is likely the same car I had. Let’s hope this time around is better than the last.

If they can maintain a competitive price on the R2 it should sell well. We have a day 1 preorder for one to replace my wife’s 2018 3 LR AWD. She would prefer the R3 though so we may look into a lease depending on what the timeline projections are on that

ASAP, I want to make sure I get the $7500 tax credit. I just need to find time to get to the Tesla store to see silver in person before I pull the trigger. If not it will be white again because I really liked it. If the black color was metallic I would get that but being a nonmetallic black is a no go for.

Is there a ballpark idea of what the cost will be for the R2?

They’re saying it’ll start at $45k, but optioned the way we want (LR AWD) it’ll probably be closer to $60k. Plus with all the material price uncertainty who knows

There’s this MS at my son’s school. I only saw it from a distance and thought it was a Plaid until today when I was right behind it. Is this another form for Plaid badge?

That will be a good starting price.

do you think your Rivian Trucks interior is up to the price point? I am unsure but my spouse certainly does.

this was the truck we test drove last night. What MSRP is this?

This rear seat pocket was a nice touch.

I really like this wheel cover

That doesn't look like a Plaid badge. There's only one badge

Definitely not a Plaid badge but it does have the spoiler. What I can’t unsee is how misaligned the right tailight is which is what many complain about but for some reason it seems to only be the right side of the car.
