The Dodge Charge Daytona EV is almost 6k lbs which is insane. Someone mentioned it’s the same weight as TWO of their 1986 M3s.
EV'S aren't the only heavy vehicles on the roads, and they don't destroy roads any more than any other car. Our roads here are destroyed by big trucks (18 wheelers). They are making completely false claims not based on any studies, but because their campaigns are funded by the oil industry
Right, the reason I bought the first Plaid is because the lease deals weren't great and you weren't allowed to buy out the lease and I always like that option. Also, at the time the interest rate on a loan was 1.74% so I bought it. Dumb me didn't think about the potential for a huge drop in price since I have never experienced that before which hyper-depreciated my car. You know what they say, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.
No consideration for the Model 3 Performance? It's crazy fast too. Not as fast as the Plaid of course, but the Plaid is so powerful that it's almost unusable unless you are willing to risk going to jail in about 3 seconds. I think I could be happy with the new Model 3 performance, especially for the price. The only reason I didn't consider it before is because I was able to get a used Plaid for almost the same price.
That's not for me to determine. The state and the federal government taxes me based on lost revenue from me not filling up. So I would assume the answer is yes
I can tell you. I save about $1500 a year, that includes insurance
Wonder would it be if gas let’s say $2.50. I told my friend to compare it to a RAV4 hybrid. My insurance premium on the RAV4 limited hybrid is $525/6months
I think I was watching a recent TFL video after they took delivery of their 4Runner they were trying to make it Nevada to avoid paying California gas prices. 😆
Wouldn’t just keeping your Tesla plaid be the right thing to do? From a low cost financial perspective
It would be the right economic thing to do but I like a new car every three years and to be honest, my car payments are immaterial to my income. However, if I can't sell my new car for a reasonable amount I will keep it for another year and figure out what I want to get next year.

But yes, you should definitely look at other offerings on the market so you know you've made the best decision. But do it quickly, because there is a bill being proposed by 14 Senators that will not only revoke the tax credits, but will impose additional taxes on EV'S because "they destroy roads" . If this goes through, it will kill EV's from all the legacy automakers, probably only Tesla will survive
Well Elon directly affects my wife because her job is on the line vs. other people that just don't like him. Every day we have no idea if she is going to lose her job.
As for the tax credit, I assumed it would be going away with the current administration and that is one reason why the leases on Plaids are pretty good since you get the $7,500 credit passed down to you. Hopefully the sale goes through so I can order right away and also cancel the hold I have on my new wheels that I ordered.

I don't mind the M3P but I like the extra power of the Plaid and the hatchback. It works better for me in many respects because of the hatch and I also like the looks way better. As far as the power, I feel like I use it all of the time.

Well, think of it this way, I use roughly 1.5 Gallons of gas a week, so that's $1.67 a week using your gas prices. That's $7 a month. BTW, electricity per gallon is more expensive, but because of EV efficiencies, we use less. My insurance on my Model 3 and Y are about the same as a Camry Hybrid, about $600/6 months each car. So comparing my Model 3 to my IS350 (keeping in mind, the Model 3 has more power and torque), the savings are roughly about $1500 a month. That's with current electricity prices here, which average about 0.33 cents per kWh. Most of my savings are in the summer when I am producing my electricity from my solar panels

Honestly the lease is just so straightforward and the downside risk on value is so high that I would take the lease even if it weren’t “a good deal”
Watching a video now of the refresh Rivian RIS, might be a contender to replace the Pacifica…
the only caveat on the R1S is that there is no captain’s chair option for the 2nd row so getting to the 3rd will be a pain until the kids are out of boosters. Aside from that and the lack of OEM running boards I have no issues with mine. I went with aftermarket rock sliders and getting in and out is easy for the kids now

Depends on the trim and tires but a dual motor max pack has an EPA rated 410 miles. Charging can use any CCS charger or v3 or v4 Tesla SCs.

I feel for you brother, unfortunately anything I say further would delve into the political realm. You'll come out on top of whatever decision you end up making, I'm sure of that
