In my case it has nothing to do with a merchant not accepting ApplePay. swajames' post sounds more likely.
Never tried so I can use my non cellular Apple Watch to make purchases without having my phone nearby? I’ve used my watch several occasions to pay but my phone has always been in my pocket at the time.
Correct. Provided the card is in your Watch wallet, you do not need a phone nearby to make a payment. It is using NFC to send a tokenized version of your card number to the payment processor. It doesn't share an actual card number, and you don't need to be online anymore than a contactless payment with a traditional credit card requires you to be online.
Some users miss the point that Wallet/Pay for the Watch has to be set up within the Watch app. It's not automatically passed from the Wallet app of the phone.
Going back to PAK, I never carried the FOB of my Polestar in the 3 yrs I had it, except the day I received the car from the Volvo dealer. I even changed phones at some point within that 3 years. I wish Hyundai works with iOS/watchOS

Certainly doesn't seem better than a gas station. Wait, it that a gas station about a football field away in the background?
Way cleaner

But I must say I’ve never seen any charging stations like the pics above. Never seen any with a cover and I’ve charged in Florida, Texas, Louisiana and Vegas. You’re living in EV capital.
No desire to visit Buc-ee's, although I'm sure it's nice. Especially after losing more than 50 lbs
My last supercharger stop was for 27 minutes for 41 kWh of charge, which is about 150 miles of range. If I'm lucky.

I've never seen a covered one either. And most I've been too aren't in the best locations. Buc-ee's is by far the best location I've seen for superchargers around here. QT gas stations around here are nicer than any supercharger locations I've been to. But to be fair, I haven't used them a lot. Switch to ICE when I'm going far for obvious reasons.
