General EV Conversation
I really thought I’d like the Nissan but I didn’t like the way it rode.

most annoying part of the EVs right now must be that they are harder to sell used, so you can not change them as much... for people who lease, thats great though with great lease deals, unfortunately we dont get that in eastern europe.
Used Tesla's have no problem selling in California. In fact if you sell a Tesla from another state, chances are it ends up in the hands of a California buyer. Of course you do take a haircut selling
I wonder if the owner wants people to think s/he has a Plaid. The car is always clean and shiny. It must be owned/cared by a car guy. It looks like our flag.Interesting enough my (good) eyes didn't catch that. I guess if it bugs you, you won't forget?
I didn’t really find the quiet powertrain or lack of transmission shifts as something appealing and nor did I find the drive to be better than an ice vehicle. I think they all drove without a soul (all the same..quiet and super boring) I was more interested in the product differentiation and mostly the interiors. I wanted to see how they drive and handle. The small Volvo was a cool experience aside from no speedometer. I really liked the Lexus interior and the materials. I thought I would like the Nissan Airya but I didn’t. KIA was kinda cool will all the features etc. the way you start the KIA with that turn of a twist on the lever was cool. Back seats in the KIA had cooling seats and interesting ambient lighting.

"nor did I find the drive to be better than an ice vehicle"
Even the most rabbid motor heads would admit an EV drivetrain drives hundreds of times better than ICE. That's like someone who drives a Corolla saying they weren't impressed after driving an M4 lol 🤣
ok but you wrote though "we test drove 15 different EVs yesterday at the auto show. My spouse loved all of them."
the write up by your spouse seems less effusive (no soul, super boring, couple of cool features...) more like damning with faint praise, maybe.

When someone has actually driven an EV and describes the experience (even if they don't intend to buy one), I can tell the difference from someone who "claims" to have driven one and wants to put it in a bad light. In other words, my BS detector goes off
This is where I find things a bit suspicious:

Why not? My V8 and my V6 are very different experiences. The sounds they make. My V8 is silent at idle and is very smooth with no exhaust noise or vibration. My V6 is a much different experience, almost feels by design. The centre differential in my V8 you can feel it adjusting when in tight turns when stopped, you feel it through the gas and brake pedal. My V6 doesn’t do it. So both my SUVs are different experiences. All the EVs at the show were silent. (aside from the Daytona)
