of course the gravity will cost 2x so not exactly a competitor. that will be a heavy price.
Yeah, I suspect you are right on this. Lucid is starting by launching the highest-end model (at $94k), but I'd be surprised if the lower-end model comes in at/near $60k. So it's probably not a direct competitor for cross-shopping, I was just thinking on size but I agree with you.
My friend’s wife made it to the charger with 1%. Anyone else live dangerous? I told him I read/saw there’s a reserve at 0% (with reduced speed). He said he’s heard of people running out at 2%.

I would want my wife to keep that story to herself...!

🤣
He said for some reason the car didn’t charge overnight. Didn’t notice it until she got in leaving for work.
They have a gas car at their house that could’ve been used for the day instead.
I have my charger set to start charging immediately upon plugging in. I used to have it on a schedule but a few times the schedule was interrupted where it didn’t charge. I have a PHEV so wasn’t much of an issue. 🙃

My wife has on a couple of occasions put the charger in only half way and didn't wait for it to lock. The mechanism will make noises trying to lock the charger then throw an error. Luckily she's had enough charge to get to and from work. Now I check in the app to make sure it's plugged in properly when I know it's her night to charge. You know I've heard women say they don't need a man.... that's BS

Very well could’ve been the case. That’s happened to me before when my daughter was helping out plugging in the charger for me.

BTW I fixed my last post
My daughter is pretty savvy, but even as an adult I've had to intervene many times, like the time she was in SoCal going to school and a mechanic ripped her off when she went for an oil change telling her that the engine mounts in her Camry were bad (they weren't) and proceeded to install Chinese knock offs, and multiple other times when just basic common sense would've saved her money and a ton of hassles
Its odd, I have my Tesla set to a schedule charge after midnight for lower electricity rates, but when I plug it in (before it charges), it throws an error message in the app saying cable may not be plugged in correctly. I know it is and it ends up charging, but I always found it weird. I get the Tesla pictured in the app with a red charging cable.

I don't have that issue at all, I use the Electrify Home with an adapter. Maybe the connector is going bad?
I want to make it absolutely clear.....this is new car registrations
California reaches 22% BEV market share, Tesla is down but not doing half bad
California has reached a record of 22% market share for battery-electric vehicles (BEV) and over 40% if you account for PHEVs and HEVs.
Tesla has been responsible for much of California’s EV leadership, but the automaker is now down in the important EV market.
Battery-electric vehicles (BEV) are now hitting an all-time record of 22.2% market share in the state – more than twice the national BEV market share:
To be fair, overall car sales are down 1.7% in the state year-to-date, but Tesla’s sales are certainly down more than the average and BEV sales are still growing.
Despite Tesla’s slowdown in sales, the automaker still has 4 vehicles in the top 10 best-selling EVs in the state, and the Model Y is undoubtedly in a league of its own:
But at the end of the day, BEVs are still growing in the state despite Tesla’s sales going down and broader car sales also being down.
Hyundai’s Ioniq 5 and Ford’s Mustang Mach-E are picking up some of Tesla’s slack.
Tesla is not the only EV manufacturer having issues in California. We can see BEV sales from Chevy, Polestar, Porsche VW, and Volvo crashing:
However, Chevy’s crash was due to the transition away from the Bolt EV. Sales should start to pick up with new EVs launching through the brand.
GM is also seeing its GMC brand’s BEV sales surge.
In the luxury BEV segments, most are doing well, aside from Tesla, with Audi, BMW, Mercedes, and Lexus all seeing double-digit percentage increases.
Rivian is also doing well, with a 35% increase in deliveries in California.
But to be fair to Tesla, those increases are all on relatively low volumes of deliveries last year while Tesla delivered a record 182,000 electric vehicles in the state in 2023 – more than all other automakers combined.
I haven't seen even one Buick EV, not one. I do see a few Cadillac Lyriq's here and there, but no Buicks, so unless they are hidden EV's, I have no idea where Buick is leading, maybe these are hybrids, but no way they are outselling RAV4
