Even if you didn't do all that, you have nothing to feel guilty about owniing an EV and being a strain on the grid any more than someone who has a big house running dual AC units. lol
Or someone going out to eat at a restaurant with an AC system on the roof the size of a bus.

I don't intend to run any solar and more than I plan to grow my own food.
In this age, food and energy should be dirt cheap.

If Japan(Toyota) invested into it's electrical infrastructure and got the power to the plug for everyone they could do EV's if they wanted to but it looks like they(Toyota) really wanted to get past the battery vehicle and jump to a primitive form of a fuel cell in hopes of a proper fuel cell in the future. Just speculation.

On most occasions you don't let your car get that low. We let them go down to no more than 50 percent before we charge. There are occasions when you come home from a trip at 30 to 20 percent SoC, but that is rare. As I mentioned previously, we use from 11 to 27 kWh per night charging our cars. To put that in perspective, 33.7 kWh would be a gallon of gas, so what we are using for our four EV's is like a drop in a bucket

We are not in the 1800's, there should be ample power at the plug for whatever we need, however much we want.

We worked for it, we paid for it, they need to make it happen and no excuses.
Give us power at the plug and don't -anyone- tell me it can't be done. lol
What Tesla does that sets itself apart that I wish toyota would adopt is that Tesla finds SOLUTIONS. Everyone else finds excuses.

Many folks are not able to install solar panels. They are only adaptable to certain types of buildings. And condo associations/HOA’s sometimes do not allow them.

Its actually illegal for condos and HOAs in many states to stop you from installing solar panels.

Does this mean solar is bad, or HOA's are being stupid?

I am not disagreeing with your statement. I said earlier that there has not been enough infrastructure for fuel cells.

Any btw, I think only something like 200 Mirai's were leased last year, so no one seems to want them..even in California
Agreed….I see no reason that Mirais and Honda Fuel-cell Claritys cannot be purchased instead of leased. Again, that is a company decision.

Just over 2k Mirais last year. And you can purchase them, they're not lease-only.

We might be getting off-topic, unless we tie this in a little more to how it will affect Toyota. My original statement (admittedly in the minority-view here) was that I thought Toyota had been correct in preferring fuel cell technology to BEVs.

My mistake. The exact number is 2,094 in 2022, which is -20.35% YoY. Pretty pitiful numbers

There is no reason why fuel-cell Mirais and Honda Claritys could not (or cannot) be purchased. I thought that the former lease or fleet-sales policy was ridiculous. But that was a corporate decision....which contributed to the low numbers.

I don't think so. There is just no demand for them. Even with Toyota giving away free fueling. A lot of Murai buyers would be former Prius owners, most of which have moved on to BEV
