The carbon overlayed switch trims made the buttons, especially the Sport button way too recessed for my liking. So, I went ahead and painted the stock trims and swapped them in. I used Spraymax 2 part epoxy primer, satin black trim paint, and then clear satin.
Let me know when you do this hack and I can get you the finishing touch to it it will require wet sanding and then polishing the back of the acrylic panel so it’s clear and then stick my decal on the back. The “- +” are blue when lit up.
@JT2MA71 Wow, thank you and that would be fantastic. I would hate to reverse the pattern and not have the template match. I have a few other projects in the queue (chassis braces, light bulbs, stereo speakers, ...). Will reach out when I am ready to tackle this one. :-)
Got some VLeds back up lights. Replaced the factory trunk lid cover clips with some proper reusable ones while I was at it.
@JT2MA71 I installed 7440 reverse lights on my other car. Wow, 3000 lumens really helps visibility at night, especially with tinted rear glass. Getting fired up to install the 1500-lumen 921 reverse lights on the ISF. :-)
It’s still sitting on the floor waiting to be installed, which I planned on doing this winter. Now I’m thinking of taking it back apart and have the ring and pinion cryo treated.
I just read through all your pages of this build from start to finish, what an amazing read. Thank you for sharing your build and process. I had some questions:
It's now been just over a year since you started this thread.. how do you compare it's ride quality now vs when you had it stock?
Why did you replace all the bushings, was it simply because of age.. because with such low miles I doubt they were worn from use..?
How did you manage to find such a low-mile IS-F in 2020?
What are you goals with the IS-F project, is it where you want it to be, or do you still have other plans? Have you ever considered the RR780 SC kit, or are you content with the power it makes now?

Hi, thank you! None of the factory bushings were bad when I replaced them. I love how the car rides now knowing how tight the suspension is. No noticeable added NVH at all either. A local friend knew I was looking for another ISF heard about this car and tipped me off and I quickly jumped on it. It was the right color and all. It is where I want it to be minus the 3.13 rear diff, I still need to install that and the recaro seats. No plans on supercharging the car as I'm definitely content with it now.
They work great! I didn't install the bumper back on yet. I am waiting for a Koyo radiator and an oil cooler kit from FIGS and also ordered a larger transmission oil cooler from Koyo.
