Solution certainly not for everyone - for those DIYers. Just trying to avoid techs tearing dash apart as I've had past issues with all that. For me - If there is a simple fix, that's a lot easier than a dealer tear-down - especially if you have to drive a new $63K vehicle with a sagging dash, waiting for parts to arrive. By the way, Premium Plus built this past April. Issue showed up last week when weather turned hot.
Calm down, It's still going to be a warranty repair. Having options until you get to the dealer or if the warranty expires can be helpful for those so inclined.
Ah yes, that legendary Lexus quality in action. It is disappointing. YMMV

Still working great. Hotter outside (and inside garage) than ever, no separation. Even tried pulling it apart with same force as prior and it doesn't budge.

Update: Some separation has occurred over the last few days during hot weather. Not as bad as without the adhesive but there is definitely an 1/8 inch space in the middle.

Another update: Maintaining an 1/8 inch space on the middle section (forgot to mention before the gap is now ONLY in the middle third area - the outer thirds are tight). This is better than the original gap where you could see most of the yellow clips. Am tempted to super glue the middle clips to see if they grab and hold tight. I can't think of a situation where I'd want the leather panel to separate as it's only clipped in to accommodate production of various colors. Any thoughts? By the way - talked to my dealer and they have not even heard of the issue.
I use a product called "Shoe Goo" or "Household Goop" that might just be perfect for this situation. JB Weld for plastic, vinyl, or leather might also work well It takes a few minutes for these products to set up, but they have worked well for me in the past.

I would absolutely do that absent a warranty. I still may if the only fix is tearing the dash apart.
Amazing to me we are all talking about super gluing (or similar) the dash of a $65,000 Lexus. I talked to my service advisor about this yesterday to see if there was an updated fix from Lexus and it didn’t sound like there was. I’ll just continue to live with it and hope for a more reasonable fix in the future. Would really prefer not to have the dash removed.
With that said, pretty awesome vehicle and averaging around 35 mpg in the mountains of NC the last several months in my 350h luxury compared to 22 mpg in my 2022 Highlander. If the dash separation is the worse thing I have to deal with, I’ll count that as a win.
Hefty,
you are so cool. I wish to be as cool as you. I don't have the dash separation but my left roof rail towards the back end of it is not completely flush like the right side and that is bugging me.
I guess we got to learn to let the small things go. Unfortunately I tend to be on the perfectionist side.
Hopefully by the time you get to be my old age, and hopefully before that, you'll learn to let not just the small things go but EVERYTHING go. With age comes wisdom, if you're doing it right. I have the dash separation starting myself - and I couldn't care less. I like the helpful hints, suggestions and ideas seen here sometimes. But I refuse to let a car or car company get my 'knickers in a twist'.
clip receptacle good clip on the far right that actually clips defective clip that does not have the side flares
The side flares are actual parts that create the friction necessary to hold up the piece. That's why the double sided tape on the top of the trim piece doesn't work long term. It's the middle of the piece that is sagging outward
