Any idea what how involved this repair is? Does it require removal of the entire dash?
Have an appointment this weekend to get this issue fixed. Dealer says they have new clips with greater tension and that they have successfully repaired several, and that these clips are definitely different from the clips they used to attempt the first fix to my vehicle. Hopefully this will work. Will try to update next week.
Had the dash repaired today. The whole visit took about an hour and a half, so they definitely didn’t take the dash apart. As you can see from the service ticket, these were special order clips (sorry didn’t get a photo of the clips). It remained tight during the 100 mile drive home and feels tight. The service advisor mentioned he wished Lexus would come up with a fix for this. When I asked if this wasn’t the fix, he indicated it was not a Lexus directed fix. Fingers crossed. I’ll post back if the fix fails.
