So it follows kind of like the old CLK philosophy... half entry level and half mid size

same as A5 and 4... they want to be able to price it higher by making it different... sounds smart to me.

If you pay close attention you will see that one prototype is marked with red tape while the other one is marked with green tape. One with the green has no rear reflectors visible.

Default Watch the New Lexus RC F Coupe on the Nürburgring – Is That a V8 we Hear?

Earlier today, we learned that the upcoming Lexus RC, or for the uninitiated, the coupe version of the new IS Sedan previewed by the LF CC concept car just last year, will debut in production trim this November in Tokyo, and will be followed shortly after by an "F" badged high performance variant at the Detroit show in January.

We've already shown you scoop pictures of the RC F throughout the week and now, we're ready to share the very first video of the prototype model testing on and around the famed Nürburgring track, captured by our spy partners.

Lexus insiders hinted at the use of a 460-horsepower V8 while talking to Automotive News, and the sounds produced by this test car seem to confirm this – the number of the cylinders, not the output, of course. What do you think?

Default Lexus Source Says RC Coupe to Debut in Tokyo, RC F in Detroit, Plus New Scoops of M4

The coupe iteration of the latest Lexus IS will be with us much sooner than we originally thought. A company official speaking on condition of anonymity not only confirmed the name of the series as "RC", but also told Automotive News that the coupe model will be revealed in the flesh at the Tokyo Motor Show in November and go on sale in the U.S. in late 2014.

The Lexus source added that the RC 350 version will feature the same 306hp 3.5-liter V6 as the IS 350, and as is the case with the sedan model, there will also be a hybrid version available in Japan and Europe, but not in the United States. While no details were provided, we assume the hybrid will utilize the same 178hp unit pairing a 2.5-liter inline-four to an electric motor as the IS 300h.

At the top of the range, you'll find the RC F Coupe, a camouflaged prototype of which we showed you earlier this week, and which we spied again while running a few hot laps on the Nürburgring track. A Lexus official told the news site that the RC F will be powered by a new 460-hp V8 engine – the older IS F Sedan made use of a 416hp 5.0-liter V8.

As for the current IS Convertible, Lexus said that it will continue "on the previous-generation platform for the immediate future".

RC-F is looking Awesome!!! - Loving the mesh wheels, Active Spoiler, BBK....please no GS tails though (100% sure those will be changed though)

Def hope they put the V8 in it.....that will make it more unique than the F80/82 M3/M4

proportions especially in the rear really remind me of an A5, which I think we can all agree is a good thing.

Someone needs to update the title of the thread. "Video on page 13".
