First look at the weird headlights

Looks like they are back to integrated DRLs in a one very sculpted housing shell.

^I think they've tried pretty hard to cover them up, but I am betting on a disconnected DRL ala 3IS.

Lol, $90k? Yeah right. M3's MSRP for $60k and even with the premium package selected and picking every option and accessory they offer, you max out at $79k. How do I know? Because I priced one out on their website. Sounds like you are just pulling that number out your ***.

Wouldn't that be the LFA

Past SC has shared platforms with GS, Supra, and ect. A Lexus official has said this car will be build on a brand new platform.

I always though of the SC as a E-Class coupe (CLK) and 6-Series competitor. I think Lexus should make a GS coupe and slap the SC name on it

With the LF-LC it seems that Lexus wants to go after the S-Class coupe (CL), that new BMW 8-Series, Aston Martin DB9, Bentley Continental GT, Rolls-Royce Wraith and ect.

Oh...

I was reading last night Aussie sites on new IS... they had a recent launch of 3IS where Chief Engineer told them that high powered V8 would be hard to get Euro VI emissions cleared so that they might be looking for something different for F.

So no wonder there was a hood scoop in this mule :-)

Default 2015 Lexus RC F Caught Testing on the Nürburgring

After being uncovered yesterday, the Lexus RC-F coupe is strutting its stuff today, hitting the Nürburgring for some testing, and AutoGuide‘s spy photographers were on hand to capture it in action.

The Lexus RC will be replacing the IS coupe, and its high-performance RC-F model is essentially a next-generation IS-F in coupe form. As first glance, some would say that its front-end changes reflect a baby LFA model, with its aggressive air intakes on the front corners and wider rear fenders.

The powerplant for the RC-F is being kept under wraps, but it’s believed that it’ll have around 450 horsepower when it debuts, whether it’s in a turbocharged six-cylinder or a more fuel- and emission-efficient V8. The RC-F is expected to make its debut at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, while the standard RC coupe will be unveiled at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show.

Default Lexus RC Coupe Interior Reveals Next-Generation Remote Touch System?

The interior of the Lexus RC F prototype has also been photographed alongside the exterior– here are a couple images by way of gMotors:

All in all, the RC F interior appears to be near identical to the new IS — there is one curious change, if you zoom in close enough:

While it could be anything, the area above the gear shift looks like a touchpad — in fact, it resembles the touchpad seen in the LF-CC concept:

Will the new RC also introduce the next-generation Lexus Remote Touch system?

Hood scoops don't necessarily mean forced induction.

Yes full throttle video would sure tell us if it is a TT6 or a NA8.

Is really hard to say, now that the M4 will be a TT6, Lexus might follow.

I sure hope Lexus is keeping the NA8!

Default 2015 Lexus RC F (IS F Coupe) Spy Shots

Lexus' LF-CC Coupe Concept, shown at the 2012 Paris Auto Show, was a brilliant exercise in design and proportion--but it was clearly concept-only, despite hints that it might presage a production model. This appears to be that production model, the 2015 Lexus RC F.
The latest images show the car testing on the Nordschleife. Earlier shots showed the car in testing on city streets.

Why RC F? Because Lexus recently trademarked the name, as an expansion of the also-trademarked RC name. Given Lexus' penchant for somewhat sensible names, the C likely indicates a coupe.

In fact, we expect the RC to be the coupe version of the IS sedan. The LF-CC was taken as a preview of the IS, in coupe form, at the time of its unveiling, as well.

From the design elements seen in these spy shots, we can see the proportions of the LF-CC have held through to the current development vehicle quite clearly. Details such as the extremely narrow headlights, blade-like side scoop, and involuted rear diffuser found on the LF-CC concept have been replaced by simpler, more production-oriented designs.

Other differences include larger tail lights, stacked exhaust outlets (like on the current IS F) and what appears to be a functional center hood vent on the car spied in testing.

Inside the cockpit of the RC F, we see a dashboard and center stack very similar to that found in the 2014 IS sedan.

So what will power the RC F? We expect a high-output V-8 engine as a primary possibility, just as found in the previous IS F sedan. Power output should be in the neighborhood of 400 horsepower, though even more is possible.

We'll update you with more details and information as the car progresses through its development cycle, which should come to completion in time for a full unveiling sometime in 2014 as a 2015 model.
