I'll get some more information from BMS. I used the Infiniti Q50/Q60 JB4 board that comes with an OBD port connector and updated the firmware for Lexus. This might be an option for those wanting to upgrade.

I was trying to see if they were selling the OBDII connector separately but didn’t see anything on their page so that’s I’m confused as to how we can upgrade haha.

What's the difference on the BMS piggyback now that it is JB4?
I see a price increase as well.

The BMS JB4 is a piggyback system that also connects to the car's OBD port to get live readings such as throttle, rpm, boost etc. With the JB4 mobile app and blue-tooth connector you can change map settings and perform data-logging from your phone.

I sent BMS an email Saturday and haven’t heard anything back. Any luck Sheddy? I want to get the JB4 so I can tune for another 2 psi haha.

The Stage 1 to JB4 upgrade ($100) is on their website. If you get a data cable you can increase the boost settings on your Stage 1 to 5-6PSI (default is at 4psi). Since i have an upgraded down pipe i was able to see power increases at +6psi, but if you are still running the stock down pipe then i would try +5 psi and see if that feels stronger.

Ah, I see it now it wasn’t there this past weekend. Thanks!

Also do you know if the $100 upgrade has everything I need? I see that the OBDII is included is that the same as the data cable etc? Details aren’t really available on their website it’s confusing and then they say you hook up through the JB4 app. So confused!

I believe the upgrade kit contains the JB4 motherboard and OBD wire w/connector. You will need the data cable to connect to your PC/MAC laptop to change settings and perform data logs. If you want to use your phone you will need the blue tooth connector and download the JB4 mobile from app store or google play ($30).

The data cable is sold separately and can be found on here- $35 (can be used with free JB4 computer app)

The blue tooth adapter can be found here- $140 + (mobile app download $30)

So I had a chat with BMS customer service and basically you’ll need the data cable (if you don’t already have it) and the JB4 upgrade to get the most out of the setup. So $35 for the cable and then the $100 for the upgrade kit. If you’re going the Bluetooth route well you can do the math.

So the OBDII cable doesn't connect to your laptop? You have to order the data cable separately on top of the $429?

That is correct. Annoying right? I know it’s just $35 but after $479 for us who had the stage 1 already and have to pay $100 to upgrade it’s even worse. You would think they would only charge $50 so it equals out to $430 but nope we have to pay $100 to upgrade which equals out to $480 that doesn’t even include shipping or the data cable LOL.

Yeah that's annoying! Lol. I'm glad I haven't bought it yet cause it would've cost me more like you're saying. Would be nice if they included the data cable and instead only charged for the Bluetooth convenience.

Yeah I’m pretty annoyed since I just bought mine like 3 weeks ago. I don’t think I’ll buy the JB4 just the data cable to change the boost, I’m not trying to get ripped off.

You will be fine with the data cable and Stage 1. All my BMS dyno results were done on the Stage 1. The JB4 gives users more tuning maps that work in conjuction with live readings, but no testing was done to show its potential.
