Do you have a case on your phone? Are you experiencing this while using android auto navigation?

I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max. It only works when my phone doesn’t have a case on. With a case on it does not reliability charge. I’ve tried different four cases including two Apple cases.

It doesn’t work on my 350h either. I have an iPhone 12. Try it with case on, case off, turn it around on the charging pad… no matter what, it charges for maybe a minute and then stops. Can’t get it to stay charging no matter what I try. Really frustrating.
Also having the problem of the driver profile not loading about half the time when I get in. Forced to go through the prompts and put in the PIN. And I’m the only driver/profile.
Those are the only two major bugs I’ve found so far. Everything else is working great.

I've found that if you're using Apple CarPlay navigation (any of them, Waze, Google Maps, Apple Maps) that it warms up your phone pretty quickly while you're charging it. The Qi Wireless charger is rated to stop charging the phone once it hits 95 degrees Fahrenheit.Originally Posted by jalewis

As for the Driver Profile not loading, try waiting 10-15 seconds before you put the car in Drive. It's most likely still loading your profile from your Digital Key and starting it in Drive will cancel it. Perhaps Lexus should look into a way where the car will continue to load the profile while in motion.

Question
What happens if you can’t load the profile? Is the car still drivable? You just don’t have your presets and favorites.
Or
Will the car not move till you have gone through the security check?

Rxwes: its drivable, it just doesn’t load your presets/favorites/etc. Runs as guest.
Chump: thanks for the tips. I’ll see if leaving CarPlay off from the start will allow it to sustain a charge. And I have tried waiting the 10-15 seconds before putting in drive for the profile load… didn’t make a difference for me.

Interesting. I was wondering what that noise was. I too think it's just fickle about where the phone is placed. I notice it's about 50/50. It's been very cold since I took delivery. I don't think there was a day that it's been over 45 yet.
I had a wireless connection problem yesterday. My phone said it was connected but the car didn't agree, and the charge kept connecting and disconnecting. I had to reboot my phone and the car and then everything started to work again, clearly an initial release event.

My Lexus NX 2022 350h wireless charger does not work with IPhone 13 Pro and IPhone 12 mini with Apple case. Charges for 30sec then blinks and stops charging. Works without case.
Also charger does not have any switch to turn it on or off. It is always On but does not work.

does this happen when you’re running CarPlay as well? It seems as if running multiple CarPlay apps like navigation and music will cause the phone to reach the thermal limits of 95 degrees pretty quickly.Originally Posted by 925CA

It looks like it is hardware issue not related to CarPlay. I also noticed charging does not work when phone is turned off.Originally Posted by chumpchang
