Lexus TZ Debuts!

Looks like the Lexus version of the Highlander we saw a couple months ago, likely to be called the TZ. I'm hoping this one gets a version of the BZ Woodland powertrain (with equal power between the front and rear motors) because that thing was a blast to drive. Car & Driver says north of 400 hp --

What I want is a need. I'm not just buying what I need here lol
320 miles of range, loaded up doing 80 I'm going to get 260 in the summer, 220 in the winter. Going to have to stop and charge 20-50 miles left, which means it has an effective 230 miles in the summer, 170 in the winter. So to get to WV I would barely make it with one charge in the summer, probably wouldn't make it in the winter. Not interested in that. If I have to stop to charge once thats fine.

I lost over than amount of range putting on the 21" velariums. It hasn't caused any extra stops for me on the same longer trips I've done. Just a little longer changing that was barely even measurable. Literally 5 minutes extra on a 250kW charger.
And don’t tell me what I need lol. I’m the buyer here, I need what I want. I just will not buy an EV with less range than 320 miles or so, that’s the absolute lowest I would accept. Would much rather have 380-400 like a Rivian, EQS SUV or Lucid. Otherwise I will just stick to PHEV.
Hilarious again that I’m arguing about this with the guy who swore he would miss gas stations and couldn’t imagine the imposition of plugging his car in when he parks it in his garage lol

I would have to stop at least 5 times one way in the winter for one trip, 4 for the other, 4 for the last plus that is assuming it's faster overall to do a 10-100% charge vs endlessly bouncing from 20-80% likely adding more stops. AND I have to go slower than normal adding 1-3 hours more on top of the stopping lol! Right now I get at least 380 miles a tank with sustained 115-120mph, 580 if speed limit is followed and reload is 4-6 min including leaving the interstate. I'm not willing to deal with that inconvenience, call me fickle but I am already pissed off enough I have to run a detector and have my wife spot vs just being allowed to run at proper speeds.

And I do "miss gas stations", mean that I miss filling up in 5 minutes every week or 2 and never thinking about it again until the tank is near E and being able to get back to a full tank in 5 minutes again. But I don't really miss gas stations themselves, because I still go there on longer trips, just most EV owners do. If fact, I like them better than most supercharger locations around here, which usually have nothing and are often empty, with no restrooms or food nearby and sometimes look like a good place to get robbed at night.
If 30 miles of range is a big deal and you are the inflexible about your stops and routes, just stick with ICE. No doubt it is easier on a long trip. We sometimes take one of our ICE vehicles because I just don't want to deal with it, especially if our route isn't predetermined. I don't need to take it, but sometimes I just want to. Completely valid.

Get a motorbike and rideshare on the rare times you NEED bigger, it will cost you less and get the job done just fine.
