8 degrees is chilly. What tires are you using in this cold weather?
Yokohama Advans. Summer tires. Work just fine in the cold; roads here mostly clean and dry. Re salt damage: I know. But if I store the car I flirt with rodent damage, tire damage, and withdrawal pains. Besides, I looked carefully at the LC last time it was up in the air, and there’s not too much ferrous under there.

Thanks for your reply. The Yokohama could perhaps be an exception with regard to summer tires. Most are made from compounds that will become hard and slippery in temperatures below 45F.
The Car Care Nut YouTube channel has done several videos showing the LC 500 undercarriage and the metal utilized is predominantly aluminum.
I hit 10K! I didn't realize that I was exactly at the milestone until I fired it up this morning to go for my free 10K service. It's taken me just over 15 months to get there.
It wasn't really 54 degrees. The sensor hadn't woken up yet; it was actually about 33 this morning.
no free service at 10K,should have been a 5K..my dealer wanted over $500 for 10K service which is pretty much an oil change..do it myself for under $100.
You might want to confirm its free before U drive to dealer, mines an hour away in traffic.

Yes, I was set up for the free service.
I am fortunate with the location of my dealer: it's a half mile from where I work, so I can drop it off and hoof it. And typically someone I know offers to pick me up along the way. Frankly, I'd rather walk, but I won't decline their generosity!
barnco, read all the positives an negatives on both Full synthetic vs. Conventional. Its a no brainer, most of the crew have gone to F.S.
To each his own. Be sure to stay with the 5K intervals/ yearly time frame which ever way u choose.

Help me here. Thought time frame was 5000 or 6 months, not yearly. I just scheduled the 6 mo. service with about 2600 miles.
so you're servicing at 6 months, which is the wise thing to do
Yes. After the service tech pulled up my credentials I asked basically what was included. She mentioned tire rotation. Didn't think that was in the cards, but thought maybe they switch the front-only from left to right and vice versa, to account for outside lateral wear.

You are correct, that is what the owners manual calls for.
It does not specify what type of oil,, synthetic or dino.
It does not specity brand of oil. It does call for oil and filter change every 6 months or 5,000 miles with 5w-30 that meets the ILSAC GF-6A standards. Everyone wants to give their 2 cents and justify the oil and interval they think the car needs. If a person wants to do it yearly because of low miles, go ahead. You just saved yourself $80. I will state one fact that is hard to dispute. Changing oil every 6 month or 5,000 miles, whichever one occurs first is not going to be detrimental in any way.
