I don’t remember where I saw it but someone reported it contacting the plate and it coming loose, maybe user error?

OEM is a drain plug...I see it maybe 20 seconds a year...dont know what the issue is here.

yeah, since you have to get under and remove the shield anyway it’s not a huge time saver. when I owned a Subaru and the oil filter was on top it was a massive upgrade - just slip the pan under, flip the valve and the oil filter was on top. Didn’t even need to jack the car up

Maybe all of you posting about drain plugs and such can start a DIY maintenance thread? Hell....they'd prolly even make it a Sticky.
