I believe you can keep your GE ecu, it's auto right?

GE ECU but you definetly need some way to tune it, and will you be using the GTE harness??? as there are some issues like COP vs distributor, Cam sensors on head with no plugs on ge harness etc,etc you definately will need to do some more research but it is acheivable

Tech question...

Just got an alignment from a local shop. I have a 93 SC400. I noticed towards the tail end of the process that he had the computer set up for an LS400 - he mentioned the caster (I think) had a spec of like 9.33 (or something) and he thought that was incorrect as mine was at 3.25. That's when I told him (because that's when I noticed it) he had it set for an LS not an SC. He plugged in SC and it showed the specs were 2.75 with a .75 range, but did not change anything else, just said it looked fine. Everything did look fine, but it was set to LS. Should he have set it back up and tested again? Are the tolerances really that close between the LS and SC that it wouldn't matter or should I take it back and ask him to redo it?

Thanks...

Quick question

Does anyone here use valvoline VR1 racing oil in their cars? It's a conventional oil but from what I've been reading, our cars (1jz/2jz) don't need synthetic. I saw it at advance auto in 50w and 20w-50.

I had similar talks with Anthony about this but lighter weight would be best for turbo lubrication wouldnt it?

To xavier I'm definitely making the switch to synthetic next oil change. I'm going with what I know best from dealing with the germans so much. Mobil 1 but in 15w50 or 10w40 viscosity. I use mobil 1 5w30 in my vw and it is great....

I just recently purchased some wheels for my car. They are work euroline dh 18x9.5 -1et all the way around square setup. I drive a 98 gs400 lowered on tein flex coils. My question is "Is it going to be hard to make these wheels fit?" Ive looked at many pics of the gs models with aggressive offset wheels but I havent seen any tutorials of what they had to do to make them fit.

shameed

vr1 racing oil is good stuff but its racing oil designed to be changed after each race like they do in the pits at the track... alot of people dont realize the diff between things applicable to racing may not be the best for the street in terms of whats in it for daily driving ...

10w40 would be ideal for its not to thick to prevent oil from getting to the wrist pins and up thru the head during cold start but yet wont turn to water under heat breakdown.. i use mobil 1 15w50 from day one for i found it to be the best compromise between enough viscosity and the ability for it to reach the wrist pins and prevent that start up famous rattle but does not break down quickly from the heat but still thin enough to not be a problem for bearing clearances and create a drag on the crank

10w30 5w30 way to thin and breaks down quickly hence why some people exp spun bearings , no real lubing on the bearings and crank

bottom line check your oil often and if you know your going to run hard change the oil beforehand
