Because I should be able to get anywhere I would travel by car on one charge with room to spare. I could drive to WV, etc.

 

Id rather just pay for a new MB S580. The whole long range ev thing is blown out of proportion for high end cars and wealthy individuals IMO.

 

about the hatch, i thought the auto-retracting cover was very cool.

about the chinese market, right now all manufacturers are focused heavily on the chinese (the largest) market. in north america we will more and more get cars exported from or at least designed for china.

How is it clickbait when it accurately summarizes what the article is about?

 

the headline and the article are taking a blunt contrarian negative position about what's possibly the most talked about car in the world right now.

many will go 'hmm... why are they so down on it' and click, the ads are shown, motor trend is happy.

 

I don't see how it's contrarian when reception to the design has been a mixed bag overall, both in and out of this thread. Obviously we know where your opinion on it lies lol

Even objectively, no one in their right mind can say that the concept translated well to the final production model.

Motor Trend can make plenty of money writing hundreds of articles, but they chose to write this one.

I totally agree with it. You clearly really love the car, but there are lots of us out there that are really disappointed in the design. Not click bait in any way shape or form, they just don't like the car and the headline sums up what the article says. I'm not sure why you're so negative towards people and outlets who don't share your viewpoint on this specific car...

The only reveal I've ever been more disappointed in than the one of this car is the LS500.

 

Some other reviewer (don't remember who now) said something that made a lot of sense - MB released so many details on the cars tech, hyperscreen, lowest Cd , range etc but left out the exterior design till the actual reveal. It's almost as if they knew it wasn't so great and decided not to say anything about it till the last minute and instead spent a lot of time on everything else that is really good.
