Yeah I wouldn’t mind renting a Murano for the comfort and V6. I wouldn’t buy one though. Too ugly! Lol
Yeah the early Ford Edge had cool styling but a terribly cheap hard plastic interior. We rented one on vacation back in 2010 and I couldn’t rest my arm upon the armrest without the upper portion of the hard plastic door panel jutting into my elbow. Horrible ergonomic flaw.
I do quite like the light colored interior of the Murano. I even like the popsicle stick colored wood grain. My god the Murano is outdated though. Hasn’t changed since 2015. Even then I think the underpinnings date back to 2002?
Yup.....it's amazing just how long they are stringing the mechanicals along. Underneath is just very archaic vs its rivals at this point. Also drives like it's from that era but he interior surprised me with how nice it is.

Well, three things. First, comfort is not necessarily lifeless.....relaxation, quietness and comfort behind the wheel can lower one's blood pressure, stress-level, and add to lifespan. Second, a vehicle like that WAS once fine for me, but those full-size products are generally too big for my driving needs today...I need something that is both comfortable and maneuverable/easy to park. Third, that's why I chose an Encore GX....it fulfilled that role for me better than anything else in the American market, although the Lincoln Corsair was also a consideration.

The CVT obliterates the advantage of the V6 tbh....really really disappointing.
Yeah the looks from the outside are hideous, the inside is nice though! Just a comfortable pod that conveys you places with no concern for driving lol!
My sister had one of those Muranos. I think hers was a 15 and had the dark brown leather interior, which I found to be quite attractive. She really loved the car but it started having quite a few issues at around the 55k mark. I can't remember exactly what - I know something with the brakes and something with the steering that the dealer was struggling to address. Also interior rattles and the like. She traded it for a 2020 RAV4 Hybrid, which she ended up not caring for, and moved on to an Infiniti QX50.
Welllllp DJ is in the shop for his latest misadventure (someone hit me), went to the shop to see if they took it back yet and they have. They have removed the running board so far.
Upon noticing that, it was hard NOT to notice the AHC protection. Pretty crazy, one of the reasons we had to have one of these….the overbuilt-ness. I circled the globe in one picture. I’ve said this before but the protection looks as solid as jail bars lol. (New LX doesn’t have this protection on AHC equipped models.)

Yeah the CVT is bad in these, all Nissans. His Rogue with the CVT and the 4 is terrible.
I found the CVT + V6 to be perfectly fine in the Murano and Maxima. Far better than when paired with the I4 in other Nissans. Speaking of Nissans, the latest Rogue is legitimately a nice vehicle and a completely solid choice in its segment. The new CVT and 1.5L turbo I3 did wonders for the overall experience.
AJT, bummer about your LX. Hope you get it back soon and are happy with the repairs. Seeing your pics reminds me of how much I like the minor facelift of your LX compared to my 2010. I saw a white one like yours drive by me this morning - modified headlight design, modified tail light design, and better wheels all compared to our '10. I think the gauge layout is a bit updated as well if I remember correctly.

Thanks! This place is the best in town, they go back generations, can match and equal high-end paint and fixed my last wreck when I backed into the pole at the dock. Should get it back within a week. I'm never selling it so who cares, but poor DJ has a crappy Carfax report! Hah.
I do agree that the '13-'15 LX570 is a looker, and IMO probably the best looking out of all of them IMHO. It's aggressive but very clean and not overly done. One of the first spindle grills that I thought looked fantastic when we were still all coming around to them. The '13+ gauges are updated with a nice color display between the analogs, which is great because it displays a digital speedometer (among other things) if you want which I lovvvvve having. Yours has the nicer interior wood, though. IDK why they updated it like they did but the wood got cheaper.

Yeah, I agree with you on the looks of '13-'15. I forgot about the difference in the grille. It is subtle, but it does have a bit more of an outline and a couple of additional angles and I believe it was the first hint at what was to come in other models down the road. The LS460 in 2013 had similar grille design cues and also looks great IMO. I didn't realize the wood was different between mine and yours.

Yes, you have African Bubinga (sp??) wood in yours, and they cheapened it out (to Rosewood I think) after the refresh.
There's a small crack in my wood near the seat memory controls which is crazy for a Lexus.
But then my LS430, older design, I would put up against anything this side of a RR or Bentley for wood quality and finish.
We can both be happy that we have the zippy and aggressive 6 speed auto, the truck slowed wayyyyy down when they dropped the 8 speed in that just goes for the highest gear for 2016.
