This is crazy! Wonder how it feels to drive... VW's engineering arm has fallen a long ways since the Piech/pre-dieselgate era... Wonder how many more prototypes and secret projects there must be that have never been shown to the public...

Yeah look at them panel gaps, 20 year old car haha.

And hah, ditto!! More common car but there was a white S-Class just like yours, black interior parked that drove through my neighborhood yesterday. I didn't see it for long because it whizzed past but it was sharp. I almost took a pic. It had your rims and everything.

Just FYI for everyone, it seems birds/geese/whatever like to do their business as they just fly off if you're ever around them like I was, etc.. I seriously couldn't believe how bad my car got hit today, never in my life have I seen it that bad. They come over from the ponds in the golf course and sit in the main road... then fly off when traffic comes and drop on everyone. I'm reallllly glad I wasn't a pedestrian.

We just both have excellent taste lol

Oh man mine got DESTROYED by seagulls at the beach one night. We had driven down to the boardwalk and it’s at an inlet between the bay and the ocean, always a ton of seagulls. It was like 40 seagulls just unloaded on it. Luckily there is a good touch less wash in OC that got it all off

Extremely cool, very nice car and the big question to me is what did it sound like? These things sound like nothing else in the other configurations and I would love to hear the 10 cyl version

Funny I was thinking the same thing, could you imagine if you were just walking along minding your own business and got hit in the face with that?

Disgusting but it almost happened to me. We had a school event for my kids and I was sitting on the bumper with the tailgate up on my old Durango and heard something hit the tailgate loudly so I lowered it and saw two big spots like that. It was fresh and disgusting to clean off.

Birds always appreciate a sparkling clean surface to... do business on. They kind of loose interest if it's been driven in the rain or has been otherwise "soiled" - unless it's just slightly dusty (enough for you to not want to just spot clean it with a QD since it'll be a clean spot on a dusty car ^^).

Speaking of car washes.. Has anybody considered one of those foam blasters for washing your car at home? I have been seeing some YouTube vids on them and they look pretty awesome. Here's one from Chemical Guys https://www.chemicalguys.com/torq-fo...6/ACC_326.html

Legit reviews (not promos) of these are showing that you can spray it on, let it sit for a minute or two, and rinse it off. Using a mit/sponge/brush not required. I'd consider dropping my monthly car wash subscription if it's truly that easy.

Foam cannons are great, been using them for years. You will still need to do a contact wash, you're not going to spray, sit and rinse and have a clean car. Think about it, even a commercial touchless wash with all those caustic chemicals can't achieve that. The foam cannon is a step in the process, for pre-soaking etc.

i have a similar one, higher model, ordered with the soap.

https://www.chemicalguys.com/torq-pr...max-8-kit.html

and on amazon:
Chemical Guys EQP_312 TORQ Professional Max Foam 8 Cannon & Honey Dew Snow Foam Soap Kit, Safe for Cars, Trucks, SUVs, RVs & More, 128 fl oz (1 Gallon) https://a.co/d/f1n6yiO

well i don't do that, and don't think it would work well enough (like it wouldn't get bugs off). i put on the foam, let it sit a few minutes, then gently wipe down with mitt. then gently pressure wash it all off (it makes a HELL of a lot of foam in every crevice, lol), then dry with microfiber towel.

i hate cleaning cars but this works pretty well.

The amount of crap (literally lol) that was was crazy. If I got hit as a pedestrian from that mess I would have been heavily covered (and pissed). I wasn't even aware it was that bad until my McDonalds drive thru friend was like "what's wrong with your car???"

Cool, thanks Bit and Steve. I might pick up one of these. Bit - looks like the one you linked is for use with pressure washers. I think the one I posted is for regular hoses.

This could help me eliminate the car wash subscription for at least 1/2 the year here. My kids would probably enjoy using this and would help wash our cars. I don't want to be the one washing my car in the dead of summer, will gladly pay for that to be done elsewhere.

This is exactly the same one my friend texted me yesterday about. He uses this and recommended it to me. It's sitting in my Amazon cart as of yesterday.
He also sent me a link for Optimum No Rinse Wash and Shine.

You need to have a pressure washer for these to be impressive. I have both. Not going to replace your carwash subscription, the proper way to use this is to foam the car down, let it dwell and run off some of the contaminants then wash as normal with a bucket and mitt. This adds time to the process doesn't subtract time.

So you can't use this to spray the foam on the car, use a mitt to quickly wash, rinse, dry? You do this first, let it sit for a few minutes, rinse, then wash by hand with bucket?

You can, but you’re going to wind up swirling the paint.
