I actually prefer the styling of the 2008-12 LX. But I think the 13-15 looks WAY better than the overstyled 16-21 version. I also think it looks better than the 2008-15 Land Cruiser with its over sized bulbous headlights.

Oh I quite like the oldest ones, too. I hate that they didn't have HIDs (Lexus didn't want to blind people apparently...but they changed that position for '13) but I like the yellow turn signals and the grille. There was NOTHING wrong with Lexus grilles before they changed drastically, IMO at least.
HIDs weren’t available until 2013?! That’s crazy, but then Mercedes was still putting halogens in the the E class and M class until 2013. But at least they were an option….

Yeah like I said, apparently Lexus didn't want to blind people. You couldn't get a Denali with HIDs those years, either so it wasn't just LX.

I always thought that was a lame excuse. Lexus clearly doesn't care anymore. GM's excuse was totally different as the Escalade had HIDs and LEDs depending on the trim. The GMT900 SUV updated got scuttled during the economic downturn so the Yukon soldiered on with those pathetic dim halogens the whole time. That was the worst part about that car imo.

They just look a little too bubbly, and they tried too hard and it didn't work. Regular GMT900 Yukons have aged better. No HIDs in a vehicle that expensive is inexcusable.
GMT800s were better trucks across the board IMO. GMT800 Denali looked bad ***.
Yes, you have African Bubinga (sp??) wood in yours, and they cheapened it out (to Rosewood I think) after the refresh.
There's a small crack in my wood near the seat memory controls which is crazy for a Lexus.
My 2008 GX470 I bought new strangely enough developed a horizontal crack down the wood on the drivers side door panel. Never knew how I got the crack but I then traded it for a new GX460 so I didn’t bother trying to get it fixed.

The GX470 never had HIDs and the lack of tech in the car was one of the reasons I traded it for a new GX460 which did have HIDs among other things like KDDS, ventilated seats, etc. Little did I know but after I got the 460 I saw where the materials/build quality were better in the 470 than the 460, one step forward, two steps back.
Like you I think my favorite LX in terms of looks was 08-12 followed by 13-16 model years.

Halogen headlights can be a lot better than some people think. Consumer Reports tested the ones in the Chevy Trailblazer, and found little difference between them and many LEDs.

Not this again. Halogen headlights have nothing on HIDs or LEDs in a good setup.
