Yep.....birds will crap on your car anywhere, unruly teens could toss eggs at it (that has happened to me before), storms can come up, trees will drop anything and everything on it, salt and sand attack it in winter, and careless morons in parking lots (or with shopping-carts) will do their thing.....a garage is only limited protection at night.

Just today, I got my car washed yesterday and drove it 8 miles to work and got a huge bird crap right on the hood…

Well, with all of the time and effort you have invested in paint-protectants, it shouldn't do much damage if you get it off in time.

I carry a little "Kit" in my cargo area to deal with those unexpected bird-droppings wherever I go....a plastic bottle full of water and a secure lid so that it doesn't leak, a little squeeze-bottle, a sponge-ball with a stick for a handle (similar to the ones used in the kitchen for dishwashing), a towel, and, of course, a bottle of Scratch-Out. That way, I can get the worst of the stuff off wherever it occurs.....I don't have to wait till I get back home. Comes in handy almost every day. I refill the little squeeze-bottle at the pool/fitness center I regularly swim at.

That way, if I see something harmful on my next-door neighbor's vehicles, I can also do them a favor and immediately get it off for them, too, before it does any damage. They appreciate it....particularly with their still-relatively-new Expedition and Bronco Sport.

I carry a kit too. I have a foaming quick detailer that works well on bird poop. Removed it once I got to work. Of course it didn’t harm anything but it’s still annoying when the car is all clean lol

Just a word of warning, your neighbors might not appreciate you cleaning on their vehicles as much as you think. For instance I would be pretty mad if somebody just decided to start cleaning my car without asking me first.

Good intentions aside I wouldn't want my neighbor coming over to clean off my cars.

And they may be being kind to him and not telling him that they actually wish he wouldn’t do that.

Yeah, I would be less than pleased if anyone did try to clean my car. I’ve got it covered.

I would HATE that personally. And then I would dread having to look like an ******* when I tell them to stop.

When we visited my in laws and it would snow (you know back when it used to snow lol) I would get up super early to beat my MIL out to the driveway to clean off my car, because she would always get up and do it to "help" me. Super nice of her and I didn't want to say anything but she would scratch the living hell out of it.

Anyone seen this about the Cadillac IQ?? Looks like a bigger version of the Lyriq, which is a good looking vehicle IMO. https://www.cnbc.com/2023/08/09/gm-e...at-130000.html

Perhaps...but you are not my neighbors. There aren't enthusiasts like you or me...or have an eagle-eye. Even at my age, I catch things they don't see.

I would still ask them, just look at the reaction from others here too. Whether they are enthusiasts or not doesn't matter, people are territorial about their property.

THEY often ask ME.

But, yes, with many other people, you are correct....something I would not do.
