so my suv lease is up feb '24 so a year away. for grins i went onto cars.com, got an appraisal and i'd be about $4K ahead selling it now and paying off all the remaining lease payments! i can do that right? that's what you mean by 'trade out'?
not sure if it makes any sense to do it, but it was interesting.
I could trade out of mine too and pocket some money, but then I would have to pay $2,400 a month for a new one LOL. Same with the van, I'd have to pay 3-400 a month more for something similar.
i think a LOT of mercedes owners have a bunch of cars and don't care if their 'precious' is at the dealer for a while, plus they don't want a loaner no matter how nice.
I think there may be some truth to that, at least the dealer thinking that.
the SL back seat is a joke, unlike the now discontinued S coupe.
Totally, but at least its there.

I do mostly city driving.
I imagine uber drivers must chew through tires fast.
My next set of tires will be cheap tires.
I think there is no need for performance tires for city driving.
Just flushing money down the toilet.
Especially when you can't rotate your tires. My front tires are really worn on the outside shoulders, but the rears look great...I may just try and get away with replacing just the fronts next time.

I have the reverse issue, and that's exactly what I do. My rears get replaced roughly 2x as often as my fronts.
problem is i'd then have to get something else which will unquestionably cost a lot more whether i lease or buy.
Buy an off lease CPO with a 6 year warranty for the same money monthly? Or something far cheaper than new if it's not a nice car for you. A work vehicle/daily doesn't have to be all that nice when you have an LC as the real car lol!

But then why not just keep what he has? I’d rather have a used car used by me.

In other news, I think I may order a Telluride to replace the Pacifica. There is a dealer in Ohio that people order them from with no markup, and it takes 8-10 months. That way I can decide if I want it when it comes in, which will coincide with the end of the lease on the Pacifica.
I may just keep the Pacifica and buy it out of the lease. I’m not buying another minivan, if my wife insists she has to have a minivan we will keep this one. It only has 22,000 miles on it.
I’ve looked at a lot of vehicles. The Telluride/Palisade really is an incredible combination of interior room and exterior size. I would love a GLS, but I just can’t justify spending $95,000 for one when my wife drives it primarily and she gets no enjoyment from a car. I think she will appreciate the smaller exterior dimensions of the Telluride, and it has all the driving aids we both want and the space we need. At MSRP of like $54k it’s a screaming deal.
I can't say I would lol, but for $42,000 less its hard to argue.
The Telluride is at its core still a Sedona minivan, it’s transverse/FWD with strut suspension, but it makes the most of that setup. For our particular use the ways in which a GLS is far superior would be wasted 90% of the time. I would enjoy driving it on trips and I would take it to WV and get enjoyment out of it, but most of the time it’s going to drive the kids to and from school and get destroyed inside by them and the dog, and my wife doesn’t appreciate or care about the differences.
On top of that I like the Telluride and it’s looks and interior and ride and I will get more enjoyment out of it that way than the Pacifica so I think it’s a good choice.
Thats exactly why. At the auto show. It was by far the best overall vehicle when it comes to design, packaging, space, materials and price. The next gen will never live up to the first gen
plus
Spoiler
it has nice seat controls and panelling
aside from the outline in the middle
It passes for my approval (Haha)
But for real…my younger sister. She puts her two kids in the backwards facing kids seats in the 2nd row. She then goes into super mom mode with a cape and all in the middle third row seat…while her husbands commands the ship

Did Kia add that lane view to the instrument panel for the blind spot that Hyundai has?
Yeah they did.
I stopped by the dealer today just while I was running around, $9K markup. I wouldn't pay the markup, for $62K I would get an Infiniti QX60 or something.
If they are going to ramrod customers in the pooper, at least they can put the sticker on rightside up...clowns.
