For clarity's sake, AGM is still a Sealed Lead Acid battery. The chemistry is exactly the same. The construction is only subtly different. The alternative term you're looking for is "flooded battery". Those are the "traditional" ones where the electrolyte (acid) solution can move about freely in the space not occupied by the plates.
In an AGM, there is a fiberglass mat inserted between the plates that holds the electrolyte in place.
The garage floor is one of my next projects. The listing agent used a grey floor paint on the garage when she listed it (I do that too) to make it look nice, but that doesn't hold up in a garage and I've got paint flaking all over the place. Thats actually why that mat is there, just to be able to scuff off the flakes of grey paint vs tracking them into the car. I have to figure out if I want to do an epoxy floor or something like swisstrax flooring...
