LOL. I'm sure a Condo Association and Underground parking structure owner know more than a study that was sourced from data from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS), and government recall data from Recalls.gov from the links in prior posts.
Can't blame them for being pragmatic and not wanting potential risk.
The thread is about EV's not specifically Tesla. Ever heard of a Chevy Bolt?? Apparently not.
Teslas are by far the largest portion of that sale but lets ignore the public information with links that were provided in the prior posts where there is conclusive evidence that there are more ICE fires than EV fires. Ever heard of Kia? Apparently not.
Is anyone really worried about EV fires burning down a house? If you are worried about that, don't go swimming in the ocean, you may get eaten by a shark.
It's funny...after the Tesla fire in my town last year, my neighbor was going on and on about how "they" warn that you should not charge an EV inside your garage ever. But when I said "Show me" he could not produce a single source of this whatsoever; he's going to pages 2, 3, 4, 5 of his Google search and coming up empty. Meanwhile, the Tesla website literally shows a car being charged in a garage. How would the Tesla lawyers feel about that if there was any shred of truth that it's so risky to charge an EV? Would any parking garage ever install a charger? Would any parking lot with chargers ever put them in close proximity to any other vehicle if this was REALLY a risk? No - not in a society that has to put a warning on a cup of coffee that it's hot.
Both EV and ICE can catch fire. Both are extremely unlikely so this isn't a reason not to buy an EV. It's a stupid reason not to buy an EV. There are much better reasons like charging situation, range concerns, towing and initial cost. I can completely understand someone using one of those reasons or a host of other reasons why they won't buy an EV. Catching fire shouldn't be one of them.

That I can agree with. If anything when it comes to EV fires, I'd be somewhat worried if I had hillbilly neighbors with a neglected EV, at which point the fire risk can become real. Other than that, its a minor concern.

I do think that large cargo ships are going to learn that you don't store an EV in the middle of the ship in case of fire . Probably better to have them where you can actually just dump one in the ocean if it ever catches fire. What a disaster.

Its just reactionary BS. In one of those articles they literally said there are 132 gas vehicle fires EVERY DAY in the US lol
