i'm probably the only one here that is actually interested in a mini van (and i'll be driving it, not my wife)! i'm more looking into the current model siennas, and hoping the new one drives prices of the outgoing models down. a 2011 sienna is still holding their value!
quick story: went to hawaii for our honeymoon and got a mustang convertible on kauai, while we got a nissan quest on the big island...yes the mustang was fun on the road up and through waimea canyon but i LOVED cruising the quest all around kona/hilo and through volcanos national park!
I drive our Odyssey more often than my wife does. It's the perfect family duty hauler. Ultra comfortable for everyone in all 3 rows and tons of storage as well. We'll probably be looking at either the new Sedona or possibly the refreshed Pacifica Plug in before the Sienna though.

Congratulations on getting married. Did you just return? If so, how were quarantine conditions? We have existing reservations to visit the Big Island in a few months (but travel restrictions could change that). How close can you get to lava flows while driving through VNP? Thanks for sharing and, yes, I still miss our 2007 Sienna at times. The power sliding doors are convenient and I didn't worry about dirtying it up with Home Depot runs. While the driver's seat was comfortable, I didn't find the 2nd-row seats that great as a passenger and understand why the family needed frequent breaks on trips whereas they never complained on a 7-hour drive to Disneyland in an LS 430.

Did you follow the (recent) long thread on where Steve (SW17LS) and his wife were trying to decide on the old Pacifica's replacement.....and wound up with a new Pacifica?

I'll add my congratulations to you and your new wife tying the knot.
A Mustang ragtop in Hawaii's climate and roadside-scenery must have been nice.
thanks for the congrats everyone but that was 3 years ago, pre-COVID so I couldn't tell ya how it is now. from what my friends tell me, the locals are not to kind to travelers nowadays due to the pandemic, telling them to go home; sounded like the aloha spirit is on hold! the story was just to highlight my love for vans, and yes i failed to remember that steve has a pacifica (which i also rented last year and car camped with it in Big Sur, CA - great vehicle too, loved the stow-n-go feature!).
i do have my first daughter arriving within a month, but a van isn't really necessary unless we have 3 kids or more. ok i can justify a van with 2 kids and a dog!

back to the topic at hand, i forgot about the sedona which i saw an early model driving around last week! the proportions looked odd to me, maybe it was the contrasting c pillars...why sedona over the sienna?

Big turnoff of Sienna is the 4 cylinder based hybrid. And the interior design and materials still seems to be much more on the cheap/budget side of things vs the interior of the Sedona looks to be much closer to a luxury type fitment. And a powerful V6 is still preferred as well, despite the MPG penalty.
Agreed....IMO, those are legitimate gripes on the narrator's part....particularly the way that sliding the rear seat back and forth made that lower trim piece catch on the poorly-installed carpet and fall off. I'm also not a fan of those Y-shaped taillights.
My Ex-Flight-Instructor had long-term experience with two recent Siennas (one a company vehicle, and the other his daily driver), and from what he told me, was not impressed with either. Both had warranty issues with things like sunroof and defective camshafts in the engine, and Toyota apparently did not handle the warranty-claims very well.
On another note, the 2021s were supposed to have a vacuum and fridge option, but that has either been cancelled or delayed.
