But the Pacifica Hybrid is also a hybrid drivetrain with a CVT.

Yes, but as I noted a couple times, it weighs a lot more (400lbs) than the Sienna and has only 15 more horsepower. My original point was that the Sienna Hybrid would be no worse than a Pacifica Hybrid when loaded and/or going over mountains.

I wouldn’t buy one of those either. I don’t have an issue with a hybrid option, I just think there should also be a gas option. I don’t like hybrids.

sure but i bet it (pacifica) won't sound like a muffled straining lawnmower getting a beat down.

On that I absolutely agree. I am much more concerned about the sounds and coarseness of the 4 cylinder than the power output of the total system. That's why I would want to drive one to see first hand before I write it off.

savagegeese video shows in 'normal' driving it doesn't seem objectionable, but if you put foot to floor to get the most out of it, it sounds bad.

I saw that. It was a pretty solid review. I was expecting him to really rip on that but it didn't seem to be nearly the issue I thought it would be.

So I had a little time yesterday waiting on my car surrounded by car dealers, so I looked at some cars. I sat in and drove a 2021 Sienna. I was underwhelmed. Still Toyota-cheap inside, lots of hard plastics, front console is high and wide and feels awkward, does have good room in the second and third rows, I do like how far back the second row can be slid in Toyota vans. Out on the road, like I figured it feels like a big Prius. Powertrain is unrefined, CVT drones an already unattractive engine note, lacks top end power. Ride and drive and refinement its considerably behind the Pacifica, louder. In person the lines are really dramatic, and IMHO the front end of it is quite ugly. Personally, I wouldnt even consider it over a Pacifica or an Odyssey.
