To be fair, they do have quite a lot of new EQ inventory just sitting. A quick cars.com search shows 8,500 new EQ cars
But on the bright side, at least they're not having any issues producing EVs. They seem to have it nailed Can't say the same for A LOT of manufacturers right now.

It's a combination of an economic outlook that's not too rosey, high interest rates, uncertainty, and of course Tesla price cuts, which have pretty much slowed down sales for all automakers. I don't know if you saw the stock market today...eeeeek
A lot of those websites show cars in transit, cars built but not shipped, customer orders and more (because they are using data feeds that also include those vehicles) so they don't really give an accurate picture of what's actually at the dealer, unallocated and actually available for sale. There have been a lot of extremely poorly-researched articles of late bemoaning the supposed state of the EV that have been based on the most incomplete data sets and most amateur-hour extrapolation.
I think a lot of it is that nobody wants an ugly Mercedes, they are not attractive at all. They’re hideous IMO, all of them. And what they’re doing to gas models with the EV trim tidbits.
$12,000 discount is nothing lol, you can do WAY better on one of those.
Wow. Like how much?
BTW here’s S-Class paint, you sure were right about the orange peel. Looking into a black S-Class should be like looking in a mirror, and it used to be.

You can barely tell I'm in my car taking a pic from the reflection.... I remember black Mercedes back in the day that looked like you could jump into the black paint it was so good.
Holy Moly!!! Look at the difference!!!!!!!! It looks like you could dive into that hood. And FWIW, this example I think could use plenty of wax etc. to look 10 times better even. Man those W140s are hard to maintain but the build quality and materials are astounding.
To be fair, that’s not water based paint that’s urethane based paint that you can’t use today, it takes more effort today to get a nice finish, it requires hand sanding. BUT, on an S Class they should hand sand the finish the way Lexus does on the LS, LC and LX.
and perhaps we don't have to turn this is into another nostalgia thread about old ice s-classes (this being ev chat after all) and old paint being better.

Its not old paint, lots of carmakers still have excellent paint, it’s an issue with Mercedes that effects the EQS.
It's not easy to get a $30K discount on a brand-new EQS, and it's like finding a needle in a haystack. Most dealers won't even consider it, so it's safe to say that this kind of discount is rare. Unless you have a charm that makes car dealerships swoon, it's an exception rather than the rule.
