Not surprising. The G90 should indeed be able to get out of its own way. In this class of sedan, one does not pay 70-80K for a slug. Both the Lambda TT V6 and Tau V8 engines, despite the differences in HP, produce around 380 ft-lbs. of torque...and the TT V6 produces it at much lower RPMs.
I agree, but Bitkahuna bought an American-market version. Unlike some other upmarket manufacturers, Genesis, at least for American-spec versions, doesn't fool around with 2.0Ts in the G80/G90 class, although we might see one as the base engine in the upcoming G70.
quick update...
minor service issue... i noticed some vibration in the wheel when driving and thought wheels must be unbalanced so called my sales guy a few days after i'd bought it and he said whatever i needed (they could pick up the car or i could come in at my convenience) and since i was nearby i figured i'd swing by. so came in, decided to wait, waiting room not fancy but the sales guy even offered me lunch as they have a little food serving counter in there but i passed on that.
car was 'ready' (they balanced the tires) in less than an hour (reasonable) and i left.
however, problem seemed to me to remain so i called service back (answered right away) and felt maybe a tire was bad... arranged for them to come get the g90 where i was at the time. the guy came by in an hour or so with a brand new g80 for me to drive and took my car. he called me about 3 hours later and said my car was ready where would i like him to come and by that time i was somewhere else so he drove there, we swapped cars, and much better... apparently they replaced the front right tire. very convenient service!
i've since reailzed the factory continental tires are hard and on initial drive on divided highway outside my community, the tires are a bit bumpy until they warm up (10 minutes driving), but they're very smooth after that.
anyway, as far as service, it's been awesome. next up will be 3k inspection (i'm at about 1500 miles now).

Tire/wheel problems like that, on new vehicles, in my experience, used to be quite common, but are relatively unusual today. There are number of different things that can cause vibrations/shimmies. One, as you noted, is tire imbalance or an out-of-round-tire). Two is wheel imbalance or runout (out-of-roundness)....which is very rare with the way that modern alloy wheels are precision-cast and built. In the old days, with stamped-steel wheels. a wheel could sometimes be out of round, and if the tire was also out of round, sometimes shifting the tire position on the wheel, or doing that is called a 90 or 180 (degree rotation), would cause the two runouts to more or less cancel each other and even things out. Three, the belts inside defective tires can shift and throw the tire out of balance.....that also occasionally happened in the past, but is generally rare today. Fourth (something you also noted), some tires can flat-spot and vibrate when cold after sitting awhile (the most significant case I've seen on this lately was on the Cadillac CT6 I sampled, but I don't remember what brand of tires it had). Fifth, the tire/wheel assembly itself can be perfect, but a bad hub in the wheel can allow it to vibrate. Sixth (and this something that used to be rampant at service shops that aren't diligent about maintaining their equipment), the balance machine itself can be out of calibration, and can give a false reading to the technician of where to put the weights....and the amount of weight needed. The machines themselves need to occasionally be re-certified/re-calibrated. Last, of course, the shops need to hire people that actually know what they are doing.... I've seen cases where you had kids looking like they were still in high school (or even young adults), on the machines, that clearly didn't really know what they were doing, and left the vehicles with vibrations/shimmies just as bad as before, if not worse. One problem (out-of-roundness) can often be spotted on the machine, with the naked eye and decent vision, when the assembly spins, just by watching for up-and-down or left-right hop. Years ago, whenever I got new tires or tire work done, I'd insist on looking at the spinning tire close-up myself, to see it it was spinning smoothly with no hop or warpage, though a lot of places today won't let customers back in the shop. (and, I find, today, it is far less necessary for me to do this, as the balance-machines and standards of service, particularly for luxury cars like yours, are so much better than they were decades ago).
Anyhow, good luck, hope they got the problem for you.

two other 'surprise' features that have really impressed me with the g90:
1) with the genesis phone app i can look up any point of interest or place on a map and if it's somewhere i want to go once i'm in the car, or may in the future, i can "send" the destination to the car. when i get in the car, i hit the 'connect' button on the dash and it shows destinations i've sent to the car, press the button and the nav directs me there. i used it last night to go to a particular parking lot next to a stadium - worked perfectly and eliminated the stress of the mad traffic (eagles concert!).
2) the car has a 'jukebox' feature which is 64GB of storage (as far as i can tell) to store your own music on, and is used as a 'dvr' for sirius radio. the latter has an additional feature i find awesome (i'm sure it's buried in the insanely huge manual than even i couldn't bothered to read all of
)... it took me a while to realize it was happening - if you hit mute (steering wheel button) or you get a phone call while listening to sirius channel when you unmute or the phonecall ends, the sirius continues RIGHT FROM WHERE IT LEFT OFF, that is, you don't miss anything.
this is great if you're listening to a news or other talk show and are into it, then get a phonecall. after the call, you haven't missed anything! of course you can forward/rewind/pause/jump-to-live as well. my jeep did the dvr thing but not automatically with calls, etc., and i THINK my g90 does it on ALL sirius channels you've preset continuously. i may have some of this wrong, but it works seamlessly and conveniently and transparently which is what luxury to me is.

yes i wrote 'much better', maybe i wasn't clear enough but it's absolutely fine now once the tires have warmed.
the cold tire issue is exacerbated for me i think by the fact that i'm 1 mile from the divided highway which has a 65mph limit so have VERY little warm up before zooming off down the highway. it's also VERY minor, and very temporary.
